“Humans. Honestly, Bill, I don’t know what you see in them.” ( season 1 , episode 9) Eric’s first complete sentence is the episode “Plaisir d’Amour” is not only extremely funny, but also very significant for his attitude towards human beings.
I love the way Eric and Pam exchange glances during that scene. They feel so aloof. It’s hilarious.
I also loved the dialogue in which he commented on makers and love ( see above ). It really shows how estranged he is from his former human self. No wonder, he is already around for over 1000 years.
Yep, forcing and manipulating is what Eric does best.
Actually, I am glad Eric did that in “Definitly Dead”. I think unkwowingly he did Bill a favour. Sookie get really mad but she would have found out eventually. It is better that way.
Quote: “Eric shares with her and tells her things. They don’t fight and break up. He is frank with her and honest with her and mature with her.”
Honestly, I find it hard to argue with that. I don’t even no what you mean. He constantly does not share things with her. I mean what was the whole stunt with the knifw. How can they break up, when they are not really together? LOL
Let’s hear Lafayette: “The same V could affect you in a whole ‘nother way.”
You might as well ask why Lafayette does not have any sex dreams about eric. He had way more of Eric’s blood than Sookie.
To answer your question: Coming from an over 1000 year old vampire, I think Eric’s blood is way more stronger than Bill’s.
Eric only was remotely good for her when lost his memory and separated from his position in vampire hierarchy.
I think Bill fell for her – in the books that is – after everything went wrong, him being attacked by drainer, Sookie rescuing him.
Whatever went wrong in the beginning, it is pretty clear that Bill is willing to take more risks for Sookie than Eric.
If after Eric can remember his liaison it takes him over two months to pop up at Sookie’s. That doesn’t show much dedication in my world.
By now, I really regret haven written that post. The whole question was meant as I joke.
I have no idea how the poll got added in the first place. I hate polls.
A post result just doesn’t maker a character better or worse, for all I care.
Will they change the meaning of manipulative? *at a loss*
Oh, I should mention I have read the books. Sometimes I wonder if they are two versions of the books. Anyone with an open mind will see that both, Eric and Bill, are still in the game.
Everyone has the right to an opinion.
********SPOILER*********
I think Sookie was less than enthusiastic that Eric didn’t tell her about the dagger. She also fears that all that is between her and Eric is the blood bond.
At the end of the book the blood bond seemed to have faded.
I don’t think, Quinn will be an option, but you are right, it is all very confusing.
I really like Sam. He really seems to care for her, but I think she just sees him as a friend. Still, in the big picture he would be my second best bet.
The way the story is laid in “Dead and Gone” I think Sookie will at least think seriously about Bill.
Being tricked into a formal vampire marriage, Eric is the only vampire that can have access to Sookie on pain of final death. I see a great potential for danger if she decided on Bill. Plus I think he really loves her.
Did Charaine Harris say the big decision will happen in book 10?
I am not sure that drinking blood from a vampire necessarily makes you sexually attracted to the vampire. Look at Lafayette, he is into men and he has way more blood from Eric than Sookie. Still, he Eric seems to be the stuff of nightmares to him ( when he gets questioned by Andy Bellefleur). Lafayette doesn’t seem to have sexual phantasies Eric. I wonder if Eric can influence the feelings his blood arouses.
Maybe when vampire blood is used for healing the bonding effect lesses because the body takes all the energy.
*********SPOILER*************
That at least is a valid argument.
When Debbie threw Sookie in the trunk with a vampire, who’d been starved and tortured for days, said that it was attempted murder.
I find it interesting that Sookie never hold that against him.
I really didn’t like the excuses Sookie made for all of Bill’s behavior in the trunk because it reminded me of the things battered women say.
Still, I think she knows that Bill in his right mind would never hurt her. Bill’s attack in the trunk is so completely not him. I always love it when he makes an apearance in the bookks.
There can be no doubt that he loves Sookie. It remains to be seen if she feels the same for him.
“I don’t know what everyone is getting so worked up about!”
I am puzzled myself. I did that post the ask the question teasingly like in the style of “dating game”. Then to my absolute astonishment someone added the poll.
It would be remiss not to tell you that I m one of the persons that are rooting for Bill. (Yes. I have read the books. Btw, Sam would be my second best bet. ) The fact that Bill is Sookie’s first love has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion.
I would find noting boring or mushy about Sookie chosing Bill. I think it be be quite a surprise for some. I guess we will see.
Not sure I agree. The term Pict derives from the name the Romans gave Scottish tribes because the were tattooed. The Romans did arrive there at about 120 AD. That doesn’t mean that their existence started then. Nevertheless the term Pict might be not precise…
I agree. Plus the book series is written with Sookie as first-person narrator. If they kept that up in the TV series it would seriouly limit the way of narrating, I think.
I don’t see a problem other than that some of previous posters including me don’t share you opinion. Everyone has the right to an opinion.
***** BOOK SPOLIER******
I have read the books and I am fully aware of what you are suggesting. You might want to learn between then lines. Charlaine Harris put a lot of effort into it to keep Eric and Bill in the game, throughout all the books. If you keep an open mind, that is.
I never cared much for Eric as Sookie’s final choice at least. If Sookie ends up with Eric, I trust Charlaine Harris is a good author enough to make accept it. In the meanwhile I feel free to root for Bill.
I never had the feeling Eric really cared for Sookie. He wanted her to yield to him.
Anyway, if it turns out that it’s Bill make sure you don’t hurt anyone hen throwing the books out.
If Eric turns out to be the one for Sookie I will keep my book but I will write my first True Bolld fanfic.
I still think Eric is a conninving sucker.
When Bill gave Sookie his blood it was a life-saving act, whatever his ulteriour motives may have been.
I think Sookie was attracked to Bill before she had his blood, whereas she obviously was repelled by Eric.
