I REALLY don’t like Evan Rachel Wood. Everyone keeps talking about her as if she’s some huge, A-list celebrity starring on the show. What is she known for anyway? Dating Marilyn Manson? Well, that’s an accomplishment!
I really agree with you, but I like her only her ’spoiled little brat way’ it´s annoying, like Jessica´s at the beginning.

“Last night was the big campy Queen vampire reveal. Will she be pretty? Will she be rich? here’s what vampire Evan Rachel Woods said to me… que sera sera.
This episode seemed to tread water a little bit, much like last week’s, but at least we got in some quality Eric time. Seriously, he was all over the place with his Matrix-flying dress-wearing Swedish ass. And we approved of all of that. The rest? Well, kind of a crazy let down. But let me tell it to you, “Pro and Con” style.
Con: Evan Rachel Wood’s Queen schtick. Was she a whole lotta glam packed in one tiny body? Yes. Well styled? Yes. Did she have a fabulous day room? Yes. Was she handed some of the best one-liners in True Blood History? Oh yes. The True Blood crew, writers, and stylists set this character up with the most non-fail safety net in the history of sexy vampires who say clever things. Which is why I’m shocked to the core at how she single handedly almost destroyed this character entirely. Her delivery came across as brittle, wooden and, well, dead.
In fact I enjoyed all those other things about her character so much that I would forget how bad her delivery was, with a gasp and giggle thinking… oooooh, vampire Bill playing Yahtzee — hand claps all around chortle, chuckle, snort — wait… what? You’re not even trying. I felt like I was watching my baby sister pretend act out the Great Gatsby, slightly tipsy off strawberry wine but completely bored with the entire shenanigan. “Whaaats that you say,” feigned eye roll and look of disinterest, “that’s acting, mah dear boy. Now lookatme be all vampiresque and royal campy camp.” It’s not fair, she was handed the best lines of the night on a silver platter, and the whole time I was thinking Vampire Bill is out-crap-acting you. Be more something, anything — be more interesting. Your blood donors are out shining you. It was like listening to nails on a chalk board to hear her stiffly eke out the “kidding” joke to Bill about having sex. I know you are carefree and no longer of this world since you have all the answers but give us something, just a bit to go on.
Bottom line: ERW half committed to True Blood, and in a land where people shoot light out of their fingers, pretend to be horned gods, have sex with trees, and turn into flies, you really have to lay it all out there if you want to stand out. When Sam transforms into a fly, he sells it… when Jason talks his idiotic banter, there’s no winky cringe from the actor trying to imply that he’s secretly smart underneath it all. Ryan Kwanten is 100% Jason, awkward eggplant engorged penis scene and all, and that’s why we love him. If you don’t commit, you’re just a disappointing cameo that wasted a great character. But what am I saying? There is no such thing as time or God or whatever for a vampire, but I don’t really remember because I was zoning out every time she spoke, hoping we could get back to the day-room shots, which were lovely.
But again, let me remind you that her writing, look and surrounding cast were all excellent. I would frame the pictures I grabbed of her in her larger-than-average fangs. She’s a classic undead beauty, you cannot deny it. But The Queen lost a loyal subject out of me entirely with her delivery.
EVR is RUINING vampire Yahtzee for me. RUINING IT. I will never forgive her for this. This is one of those moments that will probably never be captured on screen again and she is just yawning through it. I’m being robbed of the experience of fully enjoying vampire Yahtzee. And the worst part of it all, I feel like she knows she’s doing it. I’m getting the impression that in her mind she doesn’t really care how the Vampire Queen of Louisiana would play Yahtzee. I never actually believed that she hated 3-sies or anything else she was all but reciting from memory during this conversation. It’s more, “I said a funny campy thing. Look at me, I’m so glam-glam goth, which is totally in right now, campy camp camp words, okay bye.” UGH.”
Sorry… I know its long but she seriously summed up my feeling exactly on the subject of the Queen!
I completely agree! i was very disappointed, i am hoping that the Queen is portrayed better in the finale.
I thought the queen was hilarious and completly played wrong, but still, hilarious. Now that I look at it I can see that I was really just into her lines. She really could have done better. Much better, at that. Sophie-Ann is regal, strait forward and beautiful — She only got the beautiful part. She made the part look too easy. That’s just sad. But I can’t cry about it because I just can’t get over the one-liners!
Maybe ERW thought that her lines were just so amazing that she could just forget the rest of her part. Who knows? I completly agree with above.

Oh, and I have no idea who this is. I mean Evan Rachel Wood. Never seen her never heard of her.
Evan Rachel Wood is known for much more than you think, besides playing a crappy vampire queen ( which wasnt completely horrible i thought she was charming in an i only care about my self and having sex kinda i only want to annoy you way.) she was in a fabulous movie when she was younger called Thirteen.. and the acting is completely wondrous. she was in Across The Universe. the beatles movie. and she has been in many other television show cameos. not to mention green day’s when september ends music video. shes quite a decent actor.
I think she was perfect.
She was OK, I thought some one older with long dark hair,like katherine zeta jones,or some one who looked like her.It really was a waste of time for Bill to have visited the Queen.he should of just stayed in Bon Temps to help Sookie Jason ect.

she told him that maryanne would become mortal when she was ready to be devoured by her god, so he has to fake her gods arrival then kill her.
in the book sophie anne was changed when she was like 15/16 so i thought she looked a little old. im ok with this considering makeup and clothes could make her look a little older. but she was supposed to be small. she kinda had this fake cheerful creepy thing going on. so to me the character was pretty accurate though very annoying
I completly agree. And another thing.
The queen might have been young and pretty but she wore clothing that looked like it was for a thirty year old woman. She was as mature as a thirty year old woman. TB left out a few important things that, if they want to keep Sophie-Ann, they would have had to include. These things are just to important to the stroy line! Leaving out such things will leave a giant gap in the plot-line and then they will screw up the whole thing!

1.Sophie-Ann was recently married to the king of mississippi. Leaving this out (they still dont have to) would make the future plot line for season seven (or was it eight?) just plain not work.
2.When Sophie-Ann was vampire after a while she turned a young boy. His name was Andre and he STAYED BY HER SIDE AT ALL TIMES. Andre never made an appearance! (Again they can most likely still include this.)
3.She also turned two warriors named Siabert and Wheybert (I have no idea how to spell their names). The two warrior brothers carrie axes and stand next to the queen AT ALL TIMES.
When Bill entered her day room were the guards atanding outside the brothers? They sure didnt look like the brothers described in the book.
Regardless, these things are important to the overall story. Later on, that is.

I agree mo, the queen was really annoying.
She was pretty enough, certainly. But the role didn’t seem to come very naturally to her. Her flippant and cheery attitude was too forced for my taste. It vaguely reminded me of an actor in a play, where their exaggerated dialogue and emotions are necessary for the audience to comprehend a lot of information in a short amount of time. Acting on screen requires more subtlety, which I did not witness in Evan Rachel Wood’s performance

Does anyone else feel like the last 2 episodes could have been condensed into one? They hardly did anything…. it took the first half of the episode for Sookie and her crew to wait around for Bill and listen to Tara whine, and then it took the last half for Sookie to save Tara …. which isn’t successful by the way. What a waste of time.
Not to mention it took the entire episode for Jason and Andy to collect weapons. Why did we have to witness more of the townfolk’s antics? We already know they are freakin crazy, get on with it already!
For being a Queen, she didn’t exude the power she has like a Godric, an Eric or even Bill. Her look made Bill wince, but that was his acting like he should, he even seemed at one point like he might up and just leave.
@AlucarD: I agree with you. I don’t like Evan Rachel Wood as the Queen either. I expected her to be less flighty and more serene considering she’s 1100 years old. She should be past the silly teenager stage.

I thought the last episode was really — drawn out.
I didn’t think it was a very good one and it took to long to get the whole fight-off-our-neighbors thing across.
They really could have skipped alot of the mish-mash.
Come to think of it, the only new thing I learned out of the whole episode was that the queen’s a ditz and that Sookie’s house is holding an egg.

I think she was just horrible as Sophie Anne…. After this episode I really think that Alan Ball is basing his characters VERY VERY VERY LOOSELY on the series. They were all so wrong in this last episode. Every last one of them just seemed so off to me. I was very disappointed to say the least.

If I remember right she was like 16 or something.. well doesn’t look like in this episode.
Also, where is her queen-like attitude? Cold and unreachable… I understand there are some things changed in the show, but I really doubt tht soo friendly vampire queen would hold her throne for long…
I soooooo agree. Evan Rachel Wood is a great actress (I saw her in Pretty Persuasion and the film realy left an impression) but they’ve got her character all wrong! She seems to be enjoying life too much and for a 1000 yr old queen that doesen’t seem so likely…
well I read an article… somewhere… ive forgotten where…. but anyway… she is NOT 1000 yrs old like in the books… she’s only 400… WHY?? what a strange thing to change… they’ve made her younger than Eric in the show. Thats weird. And what happened to Andre… or the bert bros…????

They changed soo many characters but I thought most of them were okay.
I like how they played Andy Bellfluer, Bud Deerborn, Eggs, Laffayette (They played him perfect), Sam, Jason, Hoyt, Pam, Eric, Long Shadow, Jane Boathouse, Steve and Sara Newland, and Hoyt’s mom.
I didnt like how they played Terra, Sophie-Ann, Bill, Chow, Terra’s mom, Stan, Isabella, Hugo, and Mary-Ann.
There are probably others that I’m missing but you get the gist. They left out Ferral too. I like him.
When I first heard that Evan Rachel Wood was going to be on True Blood I thought it was a little weird just because I loved her as Lucy in Across the Universe.
I think she was prretty great. Like in the books how she is described she accomplished it well but in some parts it seemed like she was forcing it to much…but in time she might naile it perfectelly…..(some bad inglish)

I thought that the Queen was MAGNIFICENT! I loved how she was so light and airy. Like, how is she Queen? but she has a lot of good insight into the nature or everything. I don’t know. I loved it.
But i do agree with Victoriathevamp that these last two episodes could have been one. I’m getting tired of this maenad stuff. It only lasted, like, a chapter in the book! And we didn’t even get to see Eric in lycra. . . yet

she was super annoying to me for some reason…didnt like this version AT ALL.
She seem like a caricature of what the character she should be. Extremely cheesy and 2-dimensional. I’m not a huge fan of Even Rachel Wood but I expected a lot better. Every scene with Sophie-Anne made me wince.

I thought it was pretty hilarious but mostly cos of bills reactions to her (good on you steve) I understand the whole condensed into one thing but i think theyre doing their best to keep the series only covering book 2 which was only about 200 pages long so they had to pad it out a bit lol but i think we get some really good character insights in the last couple of eps and i especially like eric with the kids ‘teacup humans’ lol
sophie was supposed to be 16 when she was turned but oh well good enough for me
btw i think maybe (fingers crossed) we will get to see erics pink lycra if eric shows up undercover as one of the mad people hahaha it would be funny to see him infiltrate the orgy and distract lafayette with his gorgeousness rofl

I don´t understand why is Lafayette so afraid of Eric and have all that thoughts. Yes he passed a very hard-way on cave but they don´t turned him, so why bother? I would love to see him turned on a vamp, would be so great!

godrick possessed a far better air of royalty than her. She seemed not to be in it really. I mean hello your Queen of VAMPIRES i expected more. I wanted to be hanging on her every word but sadly i wasn’t.
I couldn’t agree more! What a waste of a potentially great character. She’s nothing like i had imagined from reading the books. The actor, Allan Hyde, who played Godric was exceptional – too bad they didn’t cast someone for Sophie-Ann’s character who was half as good.
I was left feeling EVR lacked power and detail in her delivery. Not the awe- inspiring elegance of a Queen or ancient vampyre she should have been cloaked in. It’s nothing to do with any preconceived ideas of any actresses I’d have preferred. Just not for me, personally. Could have been so much more with the material and world to play with.
And I agree the last two episodes have been very thin. I hope they’re teasing me for the finale.

Geez, the first time I heard about Evan Rachel Wood was after she was rumored to making out with Micky Roarke who was a hot guy in the 80’s(movie 9 1/2 weeks -HOT)…now he’s scary. A little Youtube search and she’s in a video with Maryln Manson (girl with heartshaped glasses) and he was her boyfriend for a few years. Yikes. I understand she wanted a roll in the show and was given the Queen’s role. So no casting required. Other than Godric and Bill, most vamps just look at humans as food, so more like a pet chicken that could be dinner any Sunday. I think she played the sociopath very well. Get used to her…Queen is in several of the books. **Book Spoiler– in 3 Eric worried she’ll “punish” them for loosing Bill. Looks like she works Eric over on Sunday’s finale.
