Godric: The Missing Sheriff of Area #9
As we first learned in episode 2, Keep This Party Going, Godric is the Vampire Sheriff of area 9 that has gone missing. He is over two thousand years old and as Eric puts it: “He is ten times the vampire I will ever be.” “If one such as him can be taken, none of us is safe.” We later learn that he is Eric’s maker and Eric has much loyalty to him. As Bill and Sookie arrive in Dallas and meet Isabel and Stan, they find new connections to the case. Sookie infiltrates the F.O.T.S. with Hugo, Isabel’s human, and they are captured by Gabe and Steve. We now know by Reverend Newlin’s thoughts that they are holding Godric, and plan to kill him at the dawn of the lock in on the platform that Luke and Jason built. Eric suspects Stan to be behind it all, but Sookie finds out it was Hugo all along. And when Hugo looks for help from the church he is kicked around like the vermin he is. With Bill trapped at the hotel by Lorena, as Eric commanded, he is completely helpless to a screaming Sookie. But as Gabe turns to rape her, he is pulled off with an incredible force, and who is her savior? Godric. The two-thousand year old vampire has finally escaped, and saved Sookie.
