  • Author: Kaili | Category: True Blood News

  • With all this talk about spoilers and everything, I was just wondering if you have read the books or not? Just leave a comment saying if you have or not. I am curious to see how many of us have read the books and are playing the will they put that in or won’t they game like I am or if you haven’t and are just going Sunday to Sunday waiting to see what happens.

    1. Deus says:

I have read up till definitely dead. I borrowed them from a friend and Im waiting till October I think to buy the whole boxed set.

    2. mnj3287 says:

I just started watching True Blood this season. I was going to wait till season 2 is over to read the books. That way I will still get my fix till season 3 starts.

    3. hsf_1st says:

I have read the 9 books..and waiting for the one supposedly to be released in October… according to Charlaine Harris website, it is compilation of previously published of short stories of sookie stakhouse. And the new book in the series to be released in May 2010

    4. Lovett says:

I’ve read all 9 of them and I cant wait till the 10th one comes out!!! they are too good

    5. Deb says:

      I’ve read them all.

    6. Jessica says:

I have read all of them. I love both the books and the show

    7. Whit says:

Read all of the books. Reason why I even knew of TB.

    8. Karina says:

I have not read the books except for the 1st one, which I read after I started to watch the show.

    9. Lestat's Lover says:

Only read 2. Going to read the third as soon as it arrives. :)

    10. Rhiannon says:

I’ve read all of them, and i really recommend them.
They are amazing books, can’t wait for the next one.

    11. Ellen says:

I have read the first eight books so far. Just ordered “Dead and Hone”. :-D
Love the books, can’t wait till May and my money is one Bill. ;-)

    12. Mari says:

I have read all the 9 books and i love them i really like eric instead off bill.. he’s better for her. It better be Eric or I’m throwing the books off the balcony! :) :)

      • Kaili says:

I soooo agree, I think Eric really does care for her more than Bill does. After all look at what he did to her, even if hes sorry that doesn’t change it.

      • Ellen says:

I never had the feeling Eric really cared for Sookie. He wanted her to yield to him.
Anyway, if it turns out that it’s Bill make sure you don’t hurt anyone hen throwing the books out. ;-)

If Eric turns out to be the one for Sookie I will keep my book but I will write my first True Bolld fanfic. ;-)

      • xTeamxEricx says:

        ***SPOILER (kinda)***
in the show, i think they make it appear as though Eric doesn’t care for Sookie that much, but if it’s anything like the books I think that after they get through the fourth book (which i can’t wait for ^_^), that they will show more of Eric caring for Sookie because in my opinion that’s when he started to show it in the books…

    13. Allie says:

Yes, they are great, can’t wait for the next one

    14. ShawnMarie says:

I’ve read the first eight. I am waiting on the ninth to come in at my library and I can’t wait until the tenth comes out in October.

      • Ellen says:

I am pretty sure the tenth won’t come out before May 2010. “Touch Of Dead”, the book coming out in October is a short story collection. :-)

    15. Louise says:

I haven’t read them yet. I got the first one the other day, so it’s currently sitting in my to be read pile. Then if I like that one (which I’m sure I will) I’ll read the rest.

I have a question, I’ve tried to find the answer elsewhere but no luck so far. How many books are planned in the series? I know the 10th one comes out next year but will there be more after that?

      • Heather says:

At ComiCon Charlaine Harris said that she had signed a contract for three more books which will take us to around 2014. I’m not sure if that includes book 10, but I would presume since that one’s already set for release it doesn’t. That means at least 12-13 total books.

    16. Lovett says:

      OH I do hope so….

    17. Crystal says:

yes… i read the 9th one in may… cant wait till october even if it is just short stories…

    18. Ellen says:

Charlaine Harris said on her webpage: “I am not finished with the series. I don’t know how many more books I will write about Sookie. The next one will be out in May.”
In an interview on likesbooks.com: ” I hadn’t envisioned the series continuing beyond Sookie’s final choice, but it very well could. I’ve read some excellent books that took place after the heroine or hero bonded with the love of his/her life. I’m certainly thinking about it.”

      • AlucarD says:

        Direct Quote from wiki article…

“Harris is contracted to write at least 10 books, the next of which is entitled Dead in the Family will be released in May 2010. During the True Blood panel at Comic Con 2009, Charlaine Harris revealed that she has signed a contract for three additional books.”

    19. Morgie says:

I have. And I love them all

    20. Marge says:

I watched the first series (here by the way – Thank you) and then I read the books while waiting for season 2 to start. I love them both.

    21. teamQuin says:

ive read all 9 books, looking forward to the short stories and the new book in may, my fav series.

    22. Judy says:

Have not read the books but may. I like Bill in the TB series and find Eric to be manipulating. Think the characters are different from the books aren’t they and the story line is differing.

    23. Richelle says:

      i have… love them all! :)

    24. taneille says:

      *spoilers*
I’ve read all of the books, and am excited for season three! Bill and Sookie’s relationship changes drastically and Eric REALLY threatens the relationship. Lorena finally gets what she deserves, Elvis lives, and Shifters become more central in the story.

      • mo says:

ive read all of the books as well my favorite is 4 or 9(even though my fav character died)

        and about elvis………………………………………………………

    26. becca says:

    27. annie 09 says:

Yes, i have read all 9 books. But not the short stories i only read “Fairy Dust” and “One Word Answer”…the short stories confusing me.

    28. xTeamxEricx says:

      that makes 5 of us… ^_^

    29. xTeamxEricx says:

sorry that was supposed to be up farther…
i’ve read all nine books and have lloved them alll i cant wait for the next one to come out!!!! and i am loving TB!!!

    30. kelzs says:

I have all the books twice over loved them

    31. India says:

      Not…well, Not yet XD
      I’m very curious now ^^

    32. I have read all nine books, thus far, and I love them! I really can’t wait for a tenth book, which I am sure there will be more, because there is no way the series could be finished! I am super impressed with the show! Although, some things are added or changed, these differences are really good, as opposed to most book to film adaptations (cough, cough…Harry Potter and Twilight). The cast and crew, especially the writers and directors have done a phenomenal job with preserving Charlaine Harris’ story while adding their own twist on the characters and story. I am just so impressed with the actors, not one of them is bad, and they match my imagination and expectations exactly (which is rare for me)!

    33. Amari says:

Just finished reading/listening to Dead Until Dark and Live in Dallas in 3 days. There is a lot of humor in these books. The story develops differently in the series, but to be honest, I like what the series is doing. I liked the Jason/Amy/V story. Liked the Jason/DOI story. Liked how they expanded the maenad story. Also like the Tara/Sookie friendship which is very different from the books I’ve read so far. I was touched by the end of book 2 when Bill realizes his connection to Portia and Andy. I am really looking forward to how they resolve the maenad problem on Sunday.

    34. mak and cheese says:

i just started to watch the show i think it’s awesome. it’s better then twilight, i know what your thinking why is a twilight fan watching true blood well i’m just an all around vampire freak. I haven’t read any of the books so wich do you think is beter the books or, the shows. if you have read all the true blood books you should read “Vampirets: Demos of The Ocean” that is a awesome book it has a secret romance at the very end and the second book is called “vampirets: Tides of Terror”

    35. LolosForEric says:

I have read all nine. I think I cried through most of the last chapter of book nine. Now I am anxiously awaiting book 10… aww geez.. just 10 more months… Seriously… WHY SO LONG??? I have made a HUMAN BEING in less time! LOL

    36. plasmaaye says:

Possible *SPOILERS* I have read ALL of the books and cannot wait for October’s release of another great book! Charlaine Harris’s vampiric world and supes world is wonderful and she has an explanation for everything! Wouldn’t we all love to have been in her research trail!! I enjoy the way Alan Ball and the writers have taken the stories from the books and put another spin on them. Jessica has to be the bane of everyone’s existence and keep turmoil going. Poor Hoyt and everyone she is involved with. I cannot wait for the Eric/Sookie shower scene and the Sookie/Quinn relationship!! Ms. Harris has said the Quinn character description is her personal homage to Vin Diesel. Wouldn’t that be terrific!! I do hope the writers bring in that relationship along with Bubba the bodyguard!! There is enough material for years of humorous, scary, mysterious, and a little adult entertainment!
I’ve read all of Anne Rice’s writings and her vampiric world is a great world and works, too, and I like the way both writer’s have their own take on the vampires. Sometimes, I find myself wondering how much is fact, fantasy, and fiction in both worlds……

    37. larissa says:

cant wait for dead in the family in may which is my birthday month how ironic!!!!

    38. Puucca says:

      I have

    39. baby gurl says:
