Laffy’s Afghan?
Anyone up for some Bizarre news? Old ladies knitting for Trueblood? Interested, read on.
There are a couple of ladies who do a podcast on iTunes called Trueblood News. It’s basically a radio show that they talk Trueblood news on. They are lucky enough to chat with some of the directors and they chat with Alan.
They get plenty of requests on their show e-mail for random items, pieces of news, etc. One of these requests was asking if they could get a picture of the afghan that Laffy uses in season one. They don’t always reply to their e-mail — especially if they are as random as this one — but they thought about what they could do for this person.
They replied to the e-mail saying that the prop was from season one and that they might not be able to get a picture but — low and behold they got one and sent it to the person who wanted it.
If you can’t remember what scene this afghan is from maybe I can help you out. In season one Laffy was captured and put into Eric’s basement. He was kept there for a long time thinking he was going to die. Miraculously he escaped and went home; when he arrived he layed down on the couch with a colorful knitted blanket and went to sleep. This is the afghan that I like to call Laffy’s afghan.
So now that you hopefully remember what scene the afgan is from you can understand why this woman wanted a picture. She wanted the picture so that she could knit a replica! Just think, somewhere out in this world the Afghan – which was given to some lucky winner – is sitting on someones couch! Pretty bizzare, huh?
