I find the show more interest then the books because it does stray quite a bit but its still the same in some places. I really hope so, i wouldn't feel the same way about it if she just stayed around with Bill the whole time. And they get a little farfetched in my opinion, what with Sookie dating every single supernatural creature she lays eyes on and the author introducing random things like weretigers (seriously, wtf?) They do an amazing job of displaying all the special effects and bringing the show to life, but i would love it if they stuck a little more closely to how things happen in the books.......i know some people may not like that but i can pretty much guarantee that if those people read the books they would love them and soon agree with those who love the books.....Sookie can not be expected to stay exact the same or stay with the same guy for the entire length of the show....it would become monotinous and people crave change and romance and supernatural action!!!!!!!!
