    2. Julez2485 says:

I really hope that they don’t stick to the books that much. After all, who wants to watch a show that they know everything that is going to happen. The way the show is right now, everything is just so unexpected, even the readers of the books don’t know whats going to happen. I can’t wait to see who will be playing the Queen.

    3. victoriathevamp says:

I haven’t read the books yet (planning to once season 2 is over) but it seems to me that the Eric in the books is a lot different than the one we see on the show. From what I hear, in the books, Eric with Sookie is a helluva lot better than Bill with Sookie…. but in the series, Bill seems so much better for Sookie.

As with a lot of things in this series, the producers are heading in a different direction than the books. Stephen and Anna have a lot of chemistry (obviously…they are engaged, after all) and in the series Bill seems genuinely in love. There are no little hints that, deep down, he is a scumbag whom Sookie is better off without.

      ****************POSSIBLE SPOILER*****************

In the book, he cheats on Sookie with Lorena. But, as we saw last episode, he completely and utterly disavowed her in front of God and everyone, and seemed sincere about it.

Personally, I would much prefer Bill and Sookie to stay together in the show…the books are an entirely other matter :)

    4. Kaili says:

      ************Book Info************
I don’t know if they will do it like the books, but in the books Sophie Anne Leclerq was the Queen of Louisiana. There was not one queen of the vampires, but a queen or king for each state. In the book, Sophie Anne Leclerq was part of the reason that Sookie and Bill broke up, but that was mostly the hoe Lorena’s fault

    5. Lestat's Lover says:

Which book is it we’re talking about here? I’ve only read the first 2. XD And there’s nothing about a Queen in those… hm.
I thought they were sticking to a book per season, but maybe not?

        ***************************book spoiler******************************

it doesnt show the queen in the books until the 5th one (the short story w/ sookie -one word answer- has the first glimpse of the queen in the books. i dont remember when the queen is first mentioned, but anyway each state has a king or queen and is split up into territories held by sheriffs.

    6. Anna-Margaret says:

      ************SPOILERS**********************

They HAVE to bring in the Eric/Sookie romance…it’s the best part of SVM! A Queen of all Vampires? *raises eyebrow* Maybe I’m getting too focused on CH’s books, but her way of Kings and Queens of each state worked and made sense. I don’t like Bill in the books because he used and lied to Sookie! *shrugs* He may have fallen in love with her after he got to know her, but he still didn’t tell her the truth which makes me think he is hiding even more lies! Even with TB Bill denouncing Lorena, she still has a pull over him as his Maker and that is the reason he HAD to go to her in CD!

Question: Is there only going to be nine episodes in this Season then? I thought they had announced there was going to be twelve again.
      xx

    7. Ellen says:

      There are twelve episodes. :-)

      ************BOOK SPOILERS**********************

I have only read the first eight books so far and I don’t agree that Sookie and Eric are better together. Bill says at some point that Sookie and Eric share the zest for life. That doesn’t change the fact that Eric is a conniving bastard.
In the eighth book “From Dead To Worse” Bill says to Sookie that he hopes that one day she will turn to him. He adds thatt he will never force himself or his company on her. From what I heard about the nineth book that is excately what Eric does.
Bill has started the relationship Sookie under false pretenses and also betrays her later. Even then when being tortured he never reveals Sookie’s name. I think he is the better vampire for Sookie. ;-)

      • kalyn says:

        SPOILER~

actually..Eric does NOT force himself, EVER, on Sookie. i HAVE read the 9th book. the sex is completely mutual, clearly and absolutely. *nodnod*

        • Ellen says:

          ************BOOK SPOILERS*************

When I spook of “forcing himself upon her” I wasn’t speaking of rape. I am pretty sure sex with Eric is quite an experience. ;-)
Nevertheless, Eric tricks Sookie into having a blood bond with him and in books nine he tricks her in an even more deeper connection. If that’s not forcing himselfself upon her I don’t know. *shrugs*

I can’t wait to read the nineth book. Anyway, my money is on Bill. ;-)

          • Ellen says:

I meant “spoke”, not “spook”. :-D

          • Dee says:

            SPOILER

To be clear, Sookie describes sex with Eric as “gourmet sex.” I think you will approve of the conversation they have. Sookie does not lose control of the relationship. She’s very careful to distinguish between what the blood bond’s responsible for and what might be her natural feelings. If anyone loses control of things, it’s Eric. And, by the way, one of those times when Harris makes you laugh out loud comes in that section, when Eric asks the same question three times in a row and Sookie answers, “Yes, Eric, I did.” Book 9 Sookie is strong and capable, far from the novice of book 1.

            • mo says:

i really dont remember that. is it in their intimate scene? (i so wish i was sookie if only in 1 of those scenes w/ eric) if not do you remember what question he asked?

        • arum says:

          ****SPOILER****
The only bad thing that eric ever done to sookie is to shuck up the bullet form his chest.
-Sookie never slaped when he kissed her (they kissed many time ) and she always enjoy the kissing. She didn,t reject him when they almost made love after sookie get stalked.

Sookie will be taken away from Bon Temps by the new king is she’s not pledge to Eric. He promise her that she can get out of this pledge if she can’t stand of it. The pledge made to save her. (Even though i think they already married in Rhodes when Eric use the knife to save sookie from beeing bond to Andre..)

So i don’t think Eric force him self to sookie.

OMG what am i doing, I’m defending a fictional caracter..I need help!

          • arum says:

I mean sookie never slap eric’s face when he kissed her >> I will do that if someone that i hate kiss me.

          • Karen says:

            ***SPOILER***

Yes – I agree with you about the marriage, but I think it began in Rhodes
when Eric used the ceremonial knife during the the 3rd blood bond, but
he needed Sookie to present the knife to him in order to complete the
            union.

Everybody keeps going on about how Eric forces the blood bond on
Sookie and at first he does trick her into – no argument, but don’t forget
that Bill forged a blood bond with Sookie as well when he saved her
in Ep2 of Series 1 (1st book). He told her about the effects of having his
blood after he saved her not before. Also in the books, he convinced Sookie
to have his blood again B4 meeting Eric for the first time – he said to make
her stronger – but really to strengthen his bond with Sookie because he knew
Eric would be interested in her. He [Bill] neglected to tell Sookie this motive.

In the books Sookie has had Bill’s blood many times so his bond should
be at least as strong as Eric’s even without Eric being older, but Sookie
keeps her relationship with Eric alive, whereas she dumped Bill for his
            multiple betrayals.
she keeps going back to Eric

    8. Ellen says:

In the episode “Never Let Me Go” Bill mentioned the king of Texas during an argument so it seems there a more than one royal vampire. :-)

    9. CourtneyyCo says:

woah, i like really want eric and sookie to be together. Eric is just so awesome!

    10. Bebusha says:

i want bill n sookie to be togetha
Eric did a lot of mean n F*cked up things to sookie n Bill

    11. Bomba S says:

      I don’t read the books, but I do want to know someting;

      - of there are a lot of kings and queens around, does that mean that they are older then Godrick? because it’s a little bit of shame, how short Godrick is / was in the picture..

      - also, even Godrick has a ” Maker “, are we going to see him soon or is the maker of Godrick not even written in the latest books?

excuse me for my english, I’m from Holland and it’s not my first language, sorry!

      • Ellen says:

        **** BOOK SPOILER ****

In the book pretty much every state has a queen or king. Godric in the books has changed his name to Godfrey in the course of centuries. He id not Eric’s maker.
Eric’s maker in the books is called Appius Livius Ocella. ;-)
Godfrey is a vampire who does not like vampires and wants to kill himself to please humans who have talked him into it. As he is attracted to chilfren as prey he does have a point. Godfrey the vampire is only about 16 years old and has tattoos from the Roman empire.
He is a very old vmpire but he doesn’t hold a special functionl position like sheriff or king in the books.

    12. Hollie on V says:

Im from the UK and want to start reading the books after season 2 has finished…
Are there 9books in total out so far and which book are we up to in the series?
Also does anyone know where i can buy them cheap as to by all 9 will cost about £45 :S

Can’t wait to see the relationships between bill sookie and eric develop :)

      • Karen says:

There are 9 books at the moment.

A book of Sookie short stories is out in October 2009 and the 10th book is out in May 2010 titled “Dead in the Family”. Try amazon.com for the books – you can buy the 1st seven in a boxed set and then just buy 8 & 9. Even with exchange rate and postage, the cost is usually cheaper. For the reading order go to the Charlaine Harris website. Happy reading – they are great!

    13. Roxana says:

      hei,

Sockie and Bill must stay together… they are perfect for each other and love needs to win everything…?

      • Christine says:

No show that lasts ever gets anywhere if the characters stay the same. “It’s only the beginning” lol!

    14. AlucarD says:

      ****TB SPOILER***
      One more very interesting tidbit… :}

Rachel Evans Wood also revealed that Sophie-Ann has a female human partner who will play a large part in the series, and that Sophie-Ann possesses one particularly interesting capability that may connect her to another main character.

“She can communicate telepathically with other vampires,” she teased. “That’s something that was in the books. I don’t know how much they’re really going to explore it on the show, but that might lead to a connection with Sookie.”

It’s already been determined that Sophie-Ann will return next season. Wood expects that somewhere down the road, she’ll have to get naked for the role.

“It’s happened to everyone on the show, so it will probably happen to me,” said Wood. “For me, it always depends on who it’s for and what the context is. I’d probably do it for Alan Ball.”

    15. Sadie says:

I think the series has just the right mix of keeping true to the books and becoming it’s own world and story as well. I really hope to see the characters evolve as they do in the books and I look forward to changing relationships as they get to know each other better. Love at first sight is sweet but it gets boring after awhile and I’m looking forward to things being shook up a bit. Plus Eric was my favorite vampire from the books for both being sexy and having a complex and interesting personality, so I’m hoping to see more of him in the coming episodes.
