“Release Me” Review
This season just seems to be getting better and better. A lot has happened is this episode, and here is a quick overview. First, watch the True Blood episode “Release Me.” Now continue
Sam is about to be killed by Maryann and her black-eyed minions but he escapes and turns into an owl. Sookie and Hugo are trapped in the basement of the F.O.T.S. Church by Steve and he tries to get information out of them. Hugo tells him her name and he realized that she is Jason’s sister. She then tries to reach out to Barry using her telepathic powers, and tells him to deliver a message to Bill, who is being held at the hotel by Lorena, and we delve a little bit further into their past together. Eric and Isabel chat up on the hill and Eric begins to worry that they have been in there much too long. Sarah tells Jason that she loves him and that they must tell Steve about their secret love right away. But Jason convinces her to wait until after the lock in. Jessica and Hoyt are back at the hotel cuddling and they both confess their virginity to one another and agree that they will have their first time together. Eric then accuses Stan of murdering Godric and setting up a war with the fellowship, he denies everything, and for the first time, Eric cries. The day comes and Lorena is staying awake so Bill will not leave, and all the while they are getting weaker. And Lorena finally tells Bill that Eric wants Sookie. Jason is shoved into a car by a knife wielding Gabe, and blamed for associating with vampires when all the while he thinks it is about his affair with Sarah. Steve then tells Gabe to take care of it and he attempts to kill Jason but Jason escapes into the woods. Tara and Eggs wake up on the couch and are extremely confused, they are even more confused when Maryann walks in with a dead rabbit. Daphne tells Sam exactly what Maryann is and what she is capable of, she is Satan in short. Sookie sees Hugo’s thoughts and finds out that all along he was the traitor. Lafayette is selling the V that Pam commanded him to, and he seems to be a bit more himself again. Arlene makes a confession to Tara, Lafayette hits on Eggs, and Andy comes in yelling at the whole bar about being zombies and such. Hoyt prepares a nice setup for Jessica and they prepare to have sex for the first time. As Jason tries to escape the church by running through the woods, Sarah chases him down with a golf cart and shoots him. Back on the dock Daphne is stabbed in the chest and murdered by the Maryann she loves so much. Then Gabe comes down and beats the hell out of Hugo and proceeds to rape Sookie and Bill is helpless as she screams. Barry then comes to the door, and leaves the message for Bill that Sookie is in trouble in the basement of the church, Eric overhears and races out the door. And before Gabe can truly hurt Sookie, he is pulled off of her by none other than… Godric.

**** Spoiler Speculations ****
1. Maryann killed Daphne because she failed to consumate the sacrifice of Sam, and also because shes a mean satanic bitch. Seems she is content to frame Sam and then off him while he’s in lockdown.
2. Jason is alive, because in the Con mid season preview, he is on the ground negotiating with a mentally unbalanced Sarah. It seems she is as good at killing men as she is of judging them, gun misfired because Jasons Bon Temps football shirt is intact on the ground.
3. In both previews, the big showdown in Dallas is coming next week…
a. Godric is on the side of the light, at least on a surface basis. Eric is chained down with silver, as he opted to take Godric’s place as the sacrifice. Good news is that Eric might be the one to kill Steve Newlin, no faces, but the same shirt Eric was wearing in his scenes with Bill and Sookie. Godric was also at the church entrance behind Sarah as she welcomed the lockdown congregation in 2×07, two quick views. Maybe he has Lestat’s new immunity to daylights ill effects–2000 years old and all. But why? Maybe immortality consists mainly of boredom, or maybe Godric wants to stir the fangers into war with the extremests, something he is good at.
b. Eric seems destined for that amnesia, maybe chained by heavy silver too long, but he won’t be laying claim to Sookie due to her preview confrontation with Lorena, and her off screen engagement to Bill. May not be total amnesia as he remarks to Sookie about the bond between ward and maker.
4. The Fellowship of the Sun is disbanded, pick an afterlife.
5. Hugo is one of the first to go as his traitorous nature is revealed, probably by Isabel, the vampire scorned.
6. Sarah is overpowered by Jason and becomes a blood buffet, Jason is accosted, but pays his debt of bad loyalties to the vampires, partially due to having the telepathically helpful sister intervene.
7. Godric resumes his sacrificial lamb pose to help the vampires atone for the PR literal bloodbath.
8. Lookin like the only thing stopping Maryann to date is diminishing Bon Temps population.
9. Jessica declares Hoyt as “mine” and another couple is joined.
Thats all I have, replies?
Could you elaborate on 3b? I am confused.
I s this related to what happens in the fourth book?
and finally, #10. Barry becomes a settle for Lorena, enabling Bill to charge to Sookie’s rescue. Almost forgot him. Barry could have a lucrative living getting victims for Lorena, and being her one and only. Sorry it wasnt in original.

3b. Well, Eric’s got more chain on him than Dickens Marley, all silver. It probably messed him up hopefully making him nicer. HBO might just be sticking with their version of Lois and Clark, Bill and Sookie. I base this on Sookie staking her claim on Bill after the fellowship thing went down
**Spoiler**
Saw a paintball spot over Jason’s heart, but the shirt is intact. Curse middle age.

All my speculations were due to reading the august spoilers, following the shows and filling in the blanks with the previews, no books were consulted and no fans were harmed in the creation of this speculation. Sorry for not putting spoiler on one of my replies.
