Sookie and Eric- Already Tired Of The Dream Sequences?

  • Author: Ellen | Category: True Blood News

  • Book spoiler in the post is marked and preceded by eye-candySooookie_ANewWorldInMyView ;-)

How do you like the dream sequences between Sookie and Eric? They seem to have the potential to annoy everyone. Possibly, they will unnerve people who are against their relationship and keep people who root for them being together unsatisfied, so to speak.

LorenaWhat did you think of Lorena being in the dream. How does she fit in?

Personally, I find the prospect of more scenes between Sookie and Eric daunting. This is why I definitely prefer the lame sequences to the “re al stuff”. ;-)

    *** BOOK SPOILER ***

Eric only got lucky with Sookie in Dead To The World after he lost his memory and separated from his position in vampire hierarchy. Truth be told, there was one close shave before so to speak in Club Dead which Bubba’s entrance prevented.

After Eric remembered his liaison with Sookie ( that they had sex while he was cursed) it takes him quite a time to pop up at Sookie’s. That doesn’t show much dedication in my world.

    1. LolosForEric says:

Very biased post. Guessing your a Bill fan? LOL…. Of course if I wrote it, it would sound very biased towards the viking. I do love en alksvard overflod!

      • erictrooper says:

aw….i love that! the viking is the best. not that i think he should get in some sort of exclusive relationship with anyone…he’s not the type! but the dream sequences need to keep coming…the more eric in each episode the happier i’ll be!

      • Cassi says:

I think the Eric and Sookie dreams are great! I love Eric, he’s so hot. Personally I think Bill’s getting annoying.

        • Kayla says:

I completly agree with you on that! Bill is way to annoying this season, Eric is the best though!

        • Addicted says:

Bill does get annoying. He’s too overpretective. i swear — everyother word that comes out of his mouth is SOOKIE!
plus he’s so serious. his mout is always frowning or in a strait line :|

          • Jen says:

What is a mout? You Eric lovers never gave Bill a chance from the getgo. In the beginning of season 1 you were all like Bill is lame and I want Eric. Shut up and get over yourselves.

      • Michele says:

I love the relationship between Sookie and Eric. In the books they have real passion towards one another, Bill has dark secrets kept from Sookie which isn’t good; therefore not trusted. Eric seems to find Sookie not only beautiful and tasty but incredibly interesting besides the humans he has grown to know.

    2. Nicole Miller says:

i really think that they need to have a season dedicated to eric and sookie

      • monika_ says:

I think they should have half a season dedicated to Bill/Sookie/Eric and the other half to Sookie/Eric. Then back to Bill/Sookie. xP
        But I’m a biased Bill Lover. =]

    3. Ekzotika says:

I see the serie here in the site, cause in Portugal where I am it´s on the 1st Season and episode 4 but I see it also… And know I´m getting a lot of things that I missed!

When Bill go to Fangtasia with Sookie for the 1st time… Eric looks to her in a different way and he speeks toward Bill in a strange way like when he says: You are being integrated! Cause Bill says that don´t see him a long time ago and he gives him this answer. Know I´m getting the scene when people say yhat Bill was sent there to Bon Temps. And when Bill says that Sookie is her Eric says with a tricky-smile: Wha a pity.

I don´t know if I will change my opinion, let´s see. Until know I´m with Bill.

But yeah I´m tired of the dreaming scene and I want to see some action, of course!

    4. kathy says:

I think they will only annoy the die hard bill fans. The prospect of a love triangle is very common in a lot shows and stories.
      ***************spoiler*************

As for erics dedication, he is shocked at what he remembers, if you recall he said to sookie that she made him happy for the first time in hundreds of years and then proves his love and dedication over and over again later on….while bill is dating someone else to “make sookie jealous” not sure why he has to sleep with her to make sookie jealous, that doesn’t really say pining away for sookie to me.

      • Ekzotika says:

Where did you saw all that dedication by Eric to Sookie?

I saw often Bill get almost killed for her and risking is life, confronting is maker and a lot of things by loving Sookie!

        • Karen says:

          *** SPOILER***

Eric’s dedication is to Sookie is a theme in the books particularly from book 4 through 9. Having said that, Bill is also dedicated to Sookie in his own way and does look out for her and help save her life. The TB series is really only on book 2 with some book 3 thrown in as well.

          • Ekzotika says:

We only have to be based on the TV Series and not by influences on the books. I didn´t read the books, as so my opinion only could be based in what I have seen. I will read them after the TV show ends cause I don´t wanna be influenced by them.

I am a little bit tired of people who don´t know how to divide waters on that!

And people that never will read the books, or even don´t know that they exists? Much people only see TV and don´t like to read. Not my case… but spoilers are so annoying cause mess all the TV show.

          • Addicted says:

            SPOILER

I started hating Bill for being such an ass after Sookie risked her life at club dead and in Russel’s mansion.
It wasnt all his fault for Sookie to be angry at him but i thought more than half of why they broke up was because of him.
Then, in book nine, when he almost died for her i almost hoped they would get back together. I like Bill again after reading nine.

            • LoveThe Viking says:

              *Spoilers*
That’s what I’m dreading, that Bill and Sookie get back together after book 9. I think her and Eric have such great chemistry and she always seems more cheerful when she is with Eric. Bill is a great guy but her life seems somewhat darker when she is with him. But the way the last book ended who knows? Hopefully there is a way that Sookie and Eric can be together happily ever after, it happened in Twilight maybe it can happen to Sookie(I know its totally different to lots of people but it is still a vampire love story). By the way I absolutely love Eric, so I don’t mind the scenes.

    5. luvbooksntvboth says:

I will take whatever amount of Eric/Alex Skarsgard that I can get, with or without clothes!

    6. Evania says:

I dislike Bill with a passion.

    7. Deeds says:

The scenes between Eric and Sookie are just deliciously HOT!
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Sookie and Bill pairing but I think True Blood producers are making the right choice by shaking things up. It creates more excitment and more drama if you will, not to mention that’s pretty good to put the sexy evil vampire have a whole new other layer that is slowly being reveiled. I actually think Eric is pretty sweet and -dare I say it- adorable (in his own twisted way).
And I dunno if you’ve noticed it but unlike in other shows we discover this new layer along side with the main character which makes it more involving and fun to watch.
Plus its highly unlikely that they end up pairing Sookie with Eric on definite terms so in the end the most probable thing to happen is Sookie and Bills bonds being reinforced as she fights against this new attraction.
So I think if you get past the your BillxSookie obcession you’ll find that this is actually a very smart move to make and might I say pehaps even a step into eventually strenghten their relation.

    8. Heather says:

I’m totally Team Sooric. I love any scenes where they’re together and you can see their growing love or caring for eachother. I really think Sookie started to be attracted to Eric from the part where he says trust me and on. I also loved that he got so pissed at Steve for threatening to tie Sookie to him so that they can burn together. I hope they keep the dreams coming and I hope Eric comes to Sookie’s rescue in the next episodes because it looks like something might happen to her. GO TEAM SOORIC!

    9. Karen says:

The dreams are cool – I’m all for more Sookie and Eric as well.

But I think that some type of closer relationship will form between Sookie and Eric (as it does in the books) and the scenes we see won’t be dreams.

Also, at the start of ep 10 when Sookie dreamed she went to see Eric after Godric’s death – I think some of that might have actually happened and Sookie just remembered it in a dream which we saw.

If you consider the type of person Sookie is, does anyone really think she would witness Eric’s grief on the roof, and then Godric’s suicide without going to see Eric afterward; especially after Godric asked her to look after Eric.

      • Heather says:

I totally agree with you Karen. I don’t think that Sookie would have gone back to Bill without going to Eric to comfort him as much as she can. I also don’t think it has to do with the blood Sookies had so far. She’s a nice person and no matter who you are, she will comfort you. I also think that she is starting to like Eric and that dream of the 2 of them in bed together opened up the door into the possibility of a relationship or friendship with Eric. I can’t wait until he gets some of her blood. Looking at the Season premiere when Eric wipes blood from his mouth, I really think it’s Sookies. I can’t wait to see what happens.

      • Dee says:

        Absolutely.

Going to check on Eric, finding his door open–it’s daytime–and him in pain and streaked with bloody tears, and comforting him? That’s so Sookie. She can’t walk away from someone who needs her help, and there was no need to rush back. Bill would have already been conked out. I hope we are meant to *think* it’s a dream and find out later that part of it was real.

Actually, I hope the whole dream was a memory, because it would have fixed this season’s big canon error.

There are two parts to a blood bond. They could have easily had Sookie get a wee cut in the blast, which Eric would then have licked healed. (He only needs a taste to make the exchange complete.j) They could have fixed that here. (Not a SPOILER, but in _Living Dead in Dallas,_ in addition to Sookie being blasé about sucking the bullet and not the overdramatic wuss of episode 8, Eric did clean her cut arm earlier, and of course got in a few healing licks.)

Last season’s big canon error was in Grandma’s story about the uncle whom Grandpa saved from suicide.

Does anyone know how to be notified if someone replys to a post? There was a box to tick, I think, the first time, but I’ve never seen it again. I didn’t tick it then because I’m in the middle of switching ISPs and my mailbox was 105% full.

        • Dee says:

Oh, yeah. One more thing about that dream.

The only thing they could have done to make that scene better was to have had Sookie kiss Godric’s cheek. She could have done it after he asked her to look after Eric. When I watched it, I was trying very hard via retrofit telepathy to make it so. Then when she kissed _Eric_’s cheek in the dream, I thought, Grrrrr.

They took all the best parts of that scene from the book–the religion discussion was almost verbatim–and spun it into golden script. It’s the best scene they’ve done in the series.

And they did it in one take. I was awed.

          • Dee says:

Okay, that didn’t come out the way I meant, now that I see in in larger white on black.

The TB scene was way better. I meant they plucked the best parts of the book’s scene out and included them in their way better scene.

            • Dee says:

If Sookie had kissed Godric’s cheek on the roof, then when she kissed Eric’s cheek, she would have been gifting him with a last touch of his maker. Eric would have been able to taste Godric on her lips.

(And yes, book 9 readers, that’s a deliberate word choice.)

              I believe I’m done now.

              • Addicted says:

That was amazing. I think that would have been a nice touch. and i agree that the scene with sookie in erics room should be real.
that is SO sookie she couldnt resist that.

    10. arum says:

Not me. Can i have more sookie-eric dream scene please. LOL

    11. :) says:

i love the way they are doing this!!
      it’s perfect.
because i want there to be stuff between eric and sookie, and technically nothing good happened until the fourth book, and i don’ want to wait that long to see stuff happen, BUT on the other hand, the way they did it in the books is awesome, and if they had sex before, it would not be the same.
so the fact that they are doing stuff without really really doing stuff is genius on the writers for coming up with,
because we get to see it,
but it still leaves room for potential if they stick to they same story line as the books.

i genuinely believe eric and bill care about sookie, and i think she cares about both of them which makes the triangle so good.

      • Addicted says:

I agree. if they stick to the book they will be making people wait and it will make them want to watch the show even more.
plus, it will be awesome to see eric with memoery loss. particuarly the shower scene ;)

    12. Kelly says:

100% Eric and Sookie. I have read the books and have been a bit frustrated with the way Eric is portrayed. It is not the actor or how he is acting (AT ALL!!! =D He is amazingly perfect) but some of the book scenes that were taken out of the show and really developed their bond. (If some of the acts he did in the first and second book were included in the show, I think almost all would completely support the Eric-Sookie relationship)

      • Meme says:

I’m reading the books now and I agree. I think the bond in the book is so believable I don’t know how the show is going to get that across.

    13. AlucarD says:

I have a feeling we are not supposed to so that it is that much more shocking to tyhe viewer when Bill is unveiled and the “softer” Eric is revealed. Plus imagine the jaw drop 4 people who haven’t a clue… OMG

      • Samjune says:

I don’t think Sookie could live with the way Eric – just recentely- treated human beings. Eric treats them like trash. As she already has problems with Bill offing despicable uncle Bartlett she will never live with Eric the vengence machine when it comes to investigating crimes against vampires. Eric’s loyalty will always first with his own kind. Sookie will always be second and no supposedly hot sex scene will change that. He will have to lie like a trooper to win her – as he did with tricking her. He won’t manage when being honest. :b

        • kathy says:

This is what is frustrating for people who are fans of “book” eric….treating humans like trash isn’t how he acts really in the book…there are things that happen that have been completely left out that show how much he values sookie as a person even when he can’t admit it outloud till ************SPOILER**********
I was really angry with the whole holding the humans in the underground dungeon…especially when in book two he helps sookie find the killer of lafayette.

          • kelzs says:

I totally agree with you it is way to different from the book.I know that’s how they wanted to do it but Eric in the book was a bit of an as*hole but in the show he is not very nice at all until the last couple of shows but anyway I think he is still hot.

          • Addicted says:

            Spoilers

I know! that pissed the hell out of me!
I love Laff but come on — he was supposed to die!
Now they screwed up Eric’s perfect personality from the books. They cant completly fix it anymore!

        • Ekzotika says:

I really agree with you, as I don´t read the books yet I only could be based on what I have seen on TV show until know. As so I´m with Bill!

          • Judy says:

I think the TV series is deviating from the books. If it followed the books it would be like a documentary. What show does not deviate from its original book?
I am team Bill all the way. I find his humanity and protection of Sookie indearing. We don’t know what Allen ball & the writers have in store for TB but I think we need to just realise that the books are a guideline and accept the changes. It is one of the most excitinf series I have ever seen.
Not reading the books till the season finishes. happy with TB as it is

    14. Rayma says:

When I first started watching the series I was really agitated with Eric. I really didn’t like his character and I really did not like the long hair :P . And I am still a Sookie/Bill fan but I think Bill is just a little to protective of her, almost to the point where it is annoying. I AM SO TIRED OF THE DREAM SEQUENCES. I want the whole Eric/Sookie thing to happen before I die. I was clawing at my chair in episode 9 with the Eric/Sookie scene and then in the beginning of episode 10 as well. The anticipation is killing meeee! I don’t think they should be a permanent coupleish thing though, I like the complications of the love triangle – it keeps the story moving!!

    15. Noote says:

      *****BOOK SPOILERS******

I absolutely agree with you. I don’t think Eric is very dedicated at all. He was adorable when he lost his memory, but even after that, when he remembered, he was just after her for a notch in his belt. I have never believed he really loved her,and I have read through the books at least 5 times, trying to come up with evidence that Eric really loves Sookie.

Do not get me wrong, I LOVE his character. I love the hot scenes (especially the shower scene), and I just generally love the character.I just don’t see real love there, only lust, jealousy, and greed.

      • Rusty says:

        *****MAJOR BOOK SPOILER*****

Well, Bill isn’t really dedicated to Sookie either. Not only does Bill cheat on Sookie with his maker, but he also got close to her because the Queen told him too. Which by the way could have been forgiven, had he been honest with Sookie about it. Let’s not even talk about how Bill raped Sookie after she saved him.

Yes, I do agree that Eric is not the most dedicated individual. But then again, he’s Eric and its not like he has professed his love for Sookie. I think he is in fact in love with her but has not admit it to himself yet. I’m sure as the serious continues, we will see his love for Sookie blossom and perhaps Eric will become more open with his feelings. If you compare the earlier Eric from Book 1,2 to Eric in the last book, you will notice a huge change. He has become a lot softer and gentler, especially the way he treats Sookie.

        • Addicted says:

          spoilers
I agree that he loves her but his hard viking heart just can’t express it in the right way. I realized that he loved her from a combo of book four and nine. when he shows up at her house and treats her so well i believe thats the real eric. the centurys of being the hard hearted viking vampire leader has taken a toll on him. But when, in book nine he tells her what was infused with the witches spell, i knew he loved her. he told her that the witches spell contained a curse to chase after his hearts desire i knew he loved her.
I cant remember which bookat the moment (i think book eight) but when pam comes to visit sookie while she working and chats with her about eric i thought that was a givaway.
when she says that he hasnt been the same since he spent the ‘time’ with her when his memory was tampered with. another clue!

      • Ekzotika says:

        Oh Yeah!

    16. plasmaaye says:

I am also afraid that Lorena is going to do something terrible to Bill! In the timebob episode he told her that she was dead to him and she said that she wished he hadn’t said that. Does anyone else get that feeling?

      • Karen says:

Yes! I think the third season will pick up something along those lines with Lorena kidnapping and torturing Bill; or maybe kidnapping and torturing Sookie – the perfect revenge against Bill for dumping Lorena like the garbage she is. Wouldn’t that make for an interesting 3rd series – different to the books absolutely, but tantilising as well to see how the storyline would unfold. Maybe Eric could rescue Sookie instead of Sookie rescuing Bill.

        • AlucarD says:

Do you think the queen in her bid to silence Bill will give a little rein to Eric, which will have Bill abducted?

          • Karen says:

Maybe. I think it is the Queen that ordered Eric to use Laff to push vampire blood. I read in the ep12 synopsis, that the Queen warns Eric to discourage Bills inquisitiveness, and I’m thinking it has something to do with the V.

            • Judy says:

Maybe, Eric is going to instigate Lorena kidnapping Bill. Tnat is how he is going to deal with him.

              • Addicted says:

i think that you have a good observation. if he finds out the ‘bad thing’ about Bill all Eric would have to do then would be to make Bill tell her of tell her himself. then he has Sookie for himself.
Its a flawed plan but it would serve its purpose.

      • Ekzotika says:

Me too. Think the same… In comparison to the Queen, she as a lot of more presence – Lorena! I dislike her too, but it´s a fact.

    17. Stefanie says:

Enough with Bill already! I WANT ERIC!!!

    18. AlucarD says:

You know what is sad, Eric would make a great play toy, but Bill would make a long term companion. I thinl once the thrill of the chase and ultimate conquest would bore Eric. If he isn’t on the hunt or showing his dominance in some way shape or form he isn’t happy. In all honesty, who would you want in a “long” term relationship? DO NOT quote or state Eric’s relationship w/Godric as a basis of your argument. The relationship two males who have that type of bond is much different than the bond Eric would have with a female. Unless he views someone as an equal or superior they wouldn’t have anything to offer him, at least as he is portrayed. No dobt, Bill went back to Bon Temps w/an alternate motive, but I trully believe that he has fallen for her upon meeting and being with Sookie.

    19. Ellen says:

I’ve read the books, and rewatched some of season 1 again. I ‘m not sure if this is a ***SPOILER ***or not. But I think we will find out about Bill’s agenda and relationship with the Queen. I remember something about Season one where He said that Sookie must be protected, like he was put in charge of her saftey. I truely believe he fell in love with her along the way. As for the Sookie/Eric dreams —Keep ‘em comming—It’s forplay for all of us ERIC fanatics.

      • Judy says:

I think Eric would like to make Sookie as he stated in the first dream sequence. She would make a good vampire. he wants Sookie fore-ever and in the TV show, He definitly wants to out Bill.

        • Addicted says:

Sookie would hate being a vampire. she couldnt do it, she says so in the first or second episode.
When the Ratrays beat her up and he is saving her with his blood she says “Don’t make me into a vampire — i would rather die.”

    20. abby says:

i have been a eric fan sice day one of reading the book and watching th show and i dont see how anyone can be on his side if you have read all the books.i love the sookie and eric dreams i love to skarsgard naked any day!!!!

    21. Ekzotika says:

Can anyone relate Eric´s female companion PAM with SOOKIE? Another way for me to see that he is not for her! Sookie is so adorable and he is so desumanized. After the Arlene kid´s scene in Fangtasia with Sam, I really am so much more certain on that! He even talk swedish with Pam when he first glance to Sookie and Bill together and said: Our zoo is getting bigger! An Pam said; Isn´t it. What an awful thing to say about it!

      • Addicted says:

        SPOILERS
Pam WAS with Eric when she was first made but she left after a while and she became lesbian. I dont hink she likes men anymore — i might be wrong. But they arent togehter anymore. In fact, Pam only just came into the picture when Eric opened up Fangtasia! He called her only recently to help with the bar.

2.They have sex later, in book three they almost do but bubba interupts.
they have sex in four but he doesnt remember. then, again in nine.
3.Bill cheats on Sookie with Lorena because she is his maker and he ‘had to comply’. We still dont know if he could have gottne away from Lorena when she was with him.
4.Eric ends up with her. They have a blood bond and he ‘marries’ her with a ceremonial knife that is used in vamp weddings. it only keeps vamps away from her but she can still be with humans — if she wants.

I just started rereading the books not to long ago. I was actually pretty mad that it took so long for them to get together. I mean, book four they were together but he doesnt remember. Then throughout books five to eight he only SAYS he wants her. And not much at that.
I agree that he shouldn’t get good marks for it in Sookie’s perspective but i like him too much to complain. ;)
If you can believe when i started reading i hated him for trying to take her away from Bill. Now I really don’t like Bill — Eric is so much more exiting. Actually, after book nine i actually have some respect for Bill nd i wonder if they will ever get beack together. (Hope not!)

read the books watched the series and looks like Sookie and Eric will definitely have a relationship in the series and I am just happy that it’s based on a book
      COS
series often doesn’t finish what they start and True Blood is based on a book which has released 10 books already . and I heard it’s continuing until it has 14 but not sure if it will end in the 14th book. so even if they end the series they have to show Sookie ending up with Eric .

      ######SPOILER ALERT#######
Bill and Sookie hasn’t been together since book 2 and they haven’t got back together in any books so far.
AB has to keep the actors stuck to their age if he wants to continue the series like each season based on each book.

by the way loved Bill in books but just hated him in series
is it me or did anyone else noticed that Bill was getting older in each series. he looked like he was in my Gramps age.
