The V-Connection: Eric And His Precious Gift

• Author: Ellen | Category: True Blood News

• TrueBlood-145200Eric has been obsessed with the idea of Sookie being his for a while now. When Bill killed Longshadow in Plaisir d’Amour, Eric offered Bill I’ll take the girl.“to accomplish retribution. Winning her through his own merits doesn’t seem to be an option for him. He negotiates through Bill how one would deal with an a commodity.

In I Will Rise Up he finally gets luckily when he manages to make Sookie believe that his existence depends on her sucking bullets out of him. Ever since, I like to call him bullet-shitter. ;-)

Personally, I am not sure that drinking blood from a vampire necessarily makes you sexually attracted to the vampire.

Look at Lafayette, he is definitely into men. Eric is a hunk and I trust under regular circumstances, well, I am convinced Lafayette wouldn’t mind a tall blond Swedish vampire to become a notch in his bedpost. Moreover, he has had way more blood frEric_Andy_nightmareom Eric than Sookie. I think it is safe to say that Eric doesn’t star in Lafayette’s sex dreams. Still, Eric seems to be the stuff of nightmares to him ( when he gets questioned by Andy Bellefleur). Lafayette doesn’t seem to have sexual fantasies Eric. Lafayette asked Eric why he wanted to give him blood to heal him

Eric: “I like you.

Lafayette: “Bullshit! You want to be able to keep tracking me why?

Eric: “You obviously mean something to Sookie and what Sookie finds meaningful I find curious.

TrueBlood-141040Who bought this explanation? I think Eric wants to use Lafayette to get more TrueBlood-159496insights into V-dealing.

I wonder if Eric can influence the feelings his blood arouses.

One thing is for sure: Eric uses the giving of his blood to control humans.

Maybe when vampire blood is used for healing the bonding effect lessens because the body takes all the energy?

****SPOILER****
Obviously you posted this question b4 E11 “Frenzy” aired last night. Laff and Sookie both share simalar dreams of Eric. Laff was quite taken aback when Sookie asked him about his dreams. Eric is definitely in his head also. My fear is that either Laff, Tara or her mother are going to die in the season finale. The real question is why is Eric passing his blood to so many people? He can’t JUST be after Sookie, he definitely has another agenda. He also appears to tell the Queen that Bill is dealing “V”, not “good-ole” Eric. LMFO Bullet-Shitter as so eloquently previously named is a much slimier and low handed vamp than any of the Eric fans like to admit.

SPOILER

I love this show but I wish they would show Eric more like he is in the books. He has a ton of redeeming qualities in the books but very very few on the show. I also think they make Bill look much too good in the show, at least compared to the books.

*spoilers*
we’re really lucky we’ve got to keep lafayette for so long, in the books the foot hanging out from andy bellefleurs car was his, but i also agree that the line between eric and bill has been made very distinct in the show they were much more similar in personality in the books and the characters got along better too but i really love the show because its a bit different and i think although sookie has naughty dreams about eric after drinking his blood, the same thing happened after she had bill’s in series one, i think that she probably has started to feel attracted to him anyway bcos she saw the true him when he was crying over godric…hopefully she’ll get to see his unhardened self again when he loses his memory (rofl so cute) if they include that from the books which i think they should

Eric is a sheriff, i believe the “V” that he sold is a bait to discover “V” chain trading among human.

After taking Eric’s blood sookie had erotic dreams about him, this is same symptom she had after taking Bill’s Blood in season 1,when bill gave him blood to saved her live. The same thing happen to Lafayette. So vampire blood have same effect to human wheather for medical purpose or not.
Although because of his age eric’s blood is more powerfull.

***Book Spoiler***
I have a question about vampire blood. In book 3 Eric gave sookie blood to make her strong enough to save Bill, and Eric’s blood made her skin glow like ” a disco ball” , also in the end of book 2 sookie found out that her skin glow after the bullet suck up accident. Before that Sookie skin had stop glowing after taking bill’s blood (book 3).
Why this 2 vampire’s blood gave different effect to sookie?. If sookie’s skin glow ( although not as bright as vampire) because she had fairy blood, is that possible that eric had fairy blood too?.

*SPOILER RESPONSE8

Eric is older than Bill so his blood is more powerful. The effects of Eric’s blood usually last longer but any large quantity of vampire blood (from any vampire) such as for a healing seems to last a bit longer than the sex nips.

All Vampires have a bit of glow; Bill was surprised in book 1 that Sookie could see that because generally humans don’t notice that. It would be a good early warning system against evil vampires if they could.

When Sookie ingests Vampire blood, she takes on some of the vampire attributes, possibly because of the fairy blood she has i.e. glowing skin and enhanced senses — but the effects do seem to wear off eventually unless she keeps ingesting blood.

**SPOILER**

I didn’t think about that…maybe he does have fae blood…I’m thinking something is up w/ Eric especially after book 9…

• annie 09 says:

@Karen: yes, i think you’re right, ‘it’s because of his age not because eric had fairy blood.

I just curious there many thing that eric and sookie match each other, same hair and eye color, sense of humor..also eric is always so certain that sookie will be his. I hope Ms. Harris will explain this in her next book.

@Eva: Yes, Fintan is Sookie half fairy grand father. I my self believe they had married vampiric way in book 8 when eric used the knife to cut his chest and let sookie take blood from it. It’s explain why later in same book he said ” and you yell at my…….at sookie” to Barry when sookie and barry argued. I think what he would said is “My wife/fiance”.
Eric just can proved it to Victor, because Andre the only witness was death. So he need the perform the knife handling ceremony to claim his pledge to sookie.

• Dani says:

I agree, there was a point just before terra went to save eggs that Lafayette and Sookie spoke about eric and drinking his blood. Lafayette mentions that he has been having scary frustrating but incredible sexual dreams about Eric.

3. plasmaaye says:

******SPOILER******
Eric certainly is always looking for shortcuts and time savers and wants things when he wants things and that goes into people, too. Also, in the books he is not mean like he is in the series so far. I don’t know that that will change. Only the writers know that!!

• Lyn says:

Yeah they make him a lot meaner…I guess for ratings…but I always thought Eric was a pretty nice guy overall. In the books that one vampire girl goes on and on about how he’s nicer than most. Especially since he lets Pam do whatever.

• LolosForEric says:

yep that theme is constantly repeated in the books: nice guy overall, best maker, great boss, not as bad as people think… etc etc…

• AlucarD says:

Even though I am pro Bill, I am starting to realize that Eric isn’t actually as bad as he is portrayed. I do believe that part of the way he actsa is just the Viking he was born. Rembering how men and womens relationships were when he was human leads mje to think he still sees women as property. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love Sookie, just his way of belief and mannerisms is different than ours in this day and age. You need to remember men bought and sold women for livestock and whatever other commodity was available. Also, they would win women in battle. Having realized this and seeing the way he acts towards Sookie, he is actually muchg gentler and loving then he could ever have been in his time. Eric with his type ego, i am sure hasn’t really evolved from that view yet and Sookie could, and will I am sure teach him love on an equal basis. No matter what Eric would never act like the whupped pup that Bill does at times. He is to self assured and doesn’t doubt his place and power as Bill isn’t even one quarter his age 163/1000+ big difference. They also have different hopes for their own futures.

• annie 09 says:

He’s a tycoon and also a sheriff – a hard to get political position in vampir world-. He has to be practical, ambitiouos, persisit and ruthless or he will not survive and become the most powerfull vampir in Lousiana.

4. Lyn says:

Also in the books Sookie says she likes Lafayette. It’s kinda like they gave Eric Sookie’s lines. That’s what I thought anyway…

5. LolosForEric says:

I had a thought a after rewatching the episode where pam tells lafayette he will be selling v….. Whose blood is it??? Eric? Pam? Chow? Can they still sense who has had the blood even if they dont drink directly from the vamp? Cuz if so… what a great way to hunt the v addicts down….

6. Violet says:

If you notice in the picture where Eric’s head is on Andy’s body, if you look down and look at their pants…..Eric’s pants aren’t the same as Andy’s.

Intentional?????
