I’ve read all The Vampire Diaries books by Lisa Jane Smith and I must say that I love them all. They’re really good. When I discovered that a TVShow was being made, I watched the trailers. They look good to me. I mean… there’s a lot of differences between the original story in the books and what I see in the trailers that must be in the show. Elena should be a blue-eyed blond girl but the show she is a brunette. Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) is probably the only character that got similar in both books and tv show. Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) is kinda equal as well but I guess his appearance should a bit different… LOL. Another different thing is that in the books Elena has a little sister called Margaret instead of a brother (tv show). Elena used to have two best friends – Meredith and Bonnie – in the books but in the show there’s only Bonnie – but she’s like a mix of Meredith and Bonnie (2 in 1). Then there’s the names question… In the series all the surnames are different; the only one that they kept are Gilbert from Elena and Salvatore from Damon and Stefan. Anyway, it’s gonna be a great show and I’ll definitely watch it.
By the way, Damon is the funniest character. When he opens is mouth, we can be prepared to die laughing. Is my favorite character…
When I first saw the trailer, I was so confused! I had to watch it over and over again. I must agree with you, Damon is hilarious! Have you read the new book? The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Nightfall? It’s good, but rather long and confusing at times, you get more insight on Damon in that book, too!

So I just finished the series tonight and I have to say they are way totally different and they are nothing like twilight either. I’m wondering now how they are going to protray the story lines from the book onto tv and especially the channel they are on too….its dark very dark. The first book was a lot like the show preview…girl meets boy type of thing but it gets DARK. Im willing to watch now to see how it plays out but if I hadn’t read the books I probably wouldn’t

I’m excited about this show after watching the extended trailer. I’ve just picked up the first book in the series to read that before the show. Hoping it’s as good at Sookie books/true blood
i’m still a little ify on it i mean the CW sucks at making shows honestly -_- just my opinion on the matter
i don’t know. i saw the trailer for it but it looks kind of… i don’t know, i doubt i’ll like it, but i guess i’ll give it a try.
i haven’t read the books. i heard there good but i haven’t had time to read them. i’m reading vampire kisses right know. it’s a good series but not as great as i thought. the goth chick pisses me off sometimes, but the story gets intresting in some points. which is why i’m still reading the books.
know blue bloods is an amazing series. so worth reading. i really hope they make it into a movie.
but yeah back to the diaries show, yea i doubt i’ll be a fan of the show. it looks… well it doesn’t look that intresting, that’s all i gotta say.
I couldn’t get into the first book at all. I mean the idea was cool, but the writing…it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Plus it’ll be on the CW so there won’t be awesome sex/violence so therefore it will be boring. And all the guys don’t look like men, they just seem so cookie cutter.

I love the TV series i have never read the books (well not yet anyways) but i just have to say twlight i was not a big fan of but vampire diaries i’m hooked on.

I LOOOOOVE THE SERIES IT SO GOOD…I’ve read all the books and i know that they’ve changed somewhat the story line but still it’s sooooo GREAT….cant wait for the 3 season…I’m totally hooked…I need another dose of Vampire Diaries…GOOD ONE GUYS
