I was the first to post on the site… LLOLLSSS

      Great you´re hossom!

I just thing the actors could be better in beauty as vampires you know?

    2. In my opinion, I like true blood better… alot better because its more mature, in a sense.
The preview for the vampire diaries looks a little twilight-ish to me and more for 13 and 14 year olds.
But, who knows? Maybe that show is better than what it looks like.

    3. Julez2485 says:

ok, so i just watched the preview for The Vampire Diaries and I completely agress with DanielleNicolee, it does look alittle too twilight-ish. I think it’ll definitely be something for teens whereas True Blood is packed with more violence, gore, sex and a higher level of maturity. But you never know, maybe it’ll turn out to be something worth watching.

    4. Kaze says:

site looks good, but i have to agree, the promo looked a bit…. weak, i haven’t read the book, maybe it’ll be ok, but i’m thinking that true blood will still be better, it’s just got such great character development.

    5. Ellen says:

I started watching the trailer for the Vampire Diaries. My first impression is that this is a show that won’t interest me. Overall, the actors look too generic me, I don’t get any vampire vibes at all. Moreover, I simply don’t like the idea of vampires being able to move freely by daylight. Which brings me to Twilight. I totally agree: too Twilight-ish for my taste. ;-)

    6. Mikki says:

i agree with everything that’s been said above… and about the main guy, Stefan or whatever… he somehow looks too… all-american you know, like he fell straight out of gossip girl

i’m not that sure i’ll be into it but i’ll give it a shot… whats the book like, anyone read it?

    7. Mikki says:

i just gotta add that it looks like they got the looks of the main couple straight out of twilight – i read the character descriptions as they’re in the books on wikipedia and there really was no point to change the way the characters look yet here they are, looking like they’re starring in a twilight fanfic or something… :/

    8. Lindsey says:

OMG!! I agree with everything above. To Twilight-ish for me. True Blood is so much better. I’ve read the book and it doesnt look anything like it. The book “Vampire Diaries” was amazing, but the show not so good.

    9. Jesse says:

I have read the twilight books as well as the vampire diaries. the twilight series is written better and is definitely more mature, but I will add that you’ll seem to have your comments backwords. twilight was written in 2005 and the vampire diaries came out in 1991. So i gotta say that it was Meyer that ripped off L. J. Smith with regards to the characters, but Meyer wrote to an older audience.

    10. Lestat's Lover says:

I’m going to be honest, I’m looking forward to the TV show for The Vampire Diaries. I’m open to a lot of different vampire shows/books.
I think I’ll prefer True Blood to it, though, because I’m just so addicted to True Blood. xD

I don’t know why everyone is talking about Twilight though… it has its similarities, yeah, to The Vampire Diaries. They’re both vampire romances set in high school. But the two things I find pretty different at the same time.
Not every vampire thing needs to relate back to Twilight. :)

    11. Ekzotika says:

I LOVE TWILIGHT BOOKS AND FILM and everyone is talking about it because Meyer opened all the way to this series, movies and books.
All the Vamp Market was ressurected by Stephenie Meyer.

As so I can say, after that Vampire Diaries is a bit similar too it. I read the comment of the Twilight being made after but, i only can say that Stephenie Meyer was very intelligent and she choose a better time to it, and know the author of vampire diaries it will be finally given the credits, cause Meyer as opened up again all that fuss about vampires.
And the vampires look very normal, american and not so pretty ones.
I agree that True Blood is very different and as so much mature content, I loved it to i´m addicet to it also.

    12. VamptressB says:

I have always enjoyed Vampire lore, and like it whether it is hard core or soft romance. A bit of variety is great! So whether the vamps are Anne Rice’s, Charlaine Harris’s, Stephanie Meyer’s, Lisa Smith’s, or a future author I’ll find something to love about each.

    13. VamptressB says:

Oh, forgot to say that I will like The Vampire Diaries, because it’s something I can enjoy with my nieces and nephews. They aren’t allowed to watch True Blood.

    14. Whit says:

sadly I think that VD (hehehehe) will get more people watching it just because it’s easy to access. I think that it looks childish, just like the rest of the CW shows.

    15. Whit says:

Oh and BTW I’m soooo tired of everything being compaired to Twilight. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the books… couldn’t stand the crap ass movie. Pissed me off because I was so looking forward to it. But GAWD those actors sucked.

    16. That trailer for vampire diaries did nothing for me. Hate to sound like a broken record but that show does draw many a comparison to the twilight saga. I used to be all for twilight, and I still don’t mind it, but it has NOTHING on trueblood… Vampire Diaries just looks like OC on V (With 30yr old-looking actors playing the roles of teenagers). Guess i’m staying loyal to Charlaine Harris & Alan Ball on this one. VD seems to be just jumping on the twilight-bandwagon

    17. Rhiannon says:

It looks okay. I just think the timing for yet another Vampire movie/television program is awful.

We’ve got Twilight (boo, hiss) and True Blood (yay!). I agree that this seems like it’s straying a little towards the Twilight setting, but hell, school romance is well trodden ground. I haven’t read the Vampire Diaries but it seems like the TV show might be a bit boring, yet again, the vampires aren’t really vampires (it’s crap if they aren’t just a little bit badass).

The Twilight film was a massive disappointment, half of them couldn’t act to save their lives. So on the other hand, i’d be really happy if this turned out to be a decent show, even just to prove that there are better vampire stories than Twilight. (Does anyone else think Twilight is getting a bit overated? I liked the books, but jeez…)

It looks alright, True Blood is probably better though :P

    18. Britta says:

barf. i think it looks like a total rip off.

    19. Ekzotika says:

Vamptress B I agree with you

About Twilight … the books are really good and the 1st film is not so much but there will be others, New Moon is on is way!

It is not a film for blockbusters fans… therefore people don´t like it but it´s kind nostalgic and it appears a movie made on the 90´s. I like it that way… and for the ones who didn´t read the books and don´t are passionate about the Saga it´s really hard to appreciate. People were expecting great action scenes, special effects, etc. But even with the lack of it, it was an huge success, as so the others will be better! All of them even aren´t expecting all the fuss about the movie, they were all surprised. Maybe Catherine Hardwicke didn´t gave her best!

Yes some actors are really poor, but others are great and a revelation.

I don´t understand why some people like to say bad stuff about Twilight, because is a fenomenon, nobody can deny it! And why are so confused about all the sucess on the Saga? What´s the problem?

P.S. I´m not a teen, I have 29. Lols but it´s the 1st time vampire are alowed to teens too. XXI remember?

    20. Jenna says:

I guess I’m going to be one of the few here to go out on a limb and stick up for this new show. It wasn’t until I seen a trailer for the Vampire Diaries that I went out and purchased the first four (original) books in the series, and I absolutely loved them. Obviously, there are differences between the books and show that readers (myself included) are probably not going to be happy about (from Elena’s brown hair, to what appears to be an absence of a Meredith character, to the name of the town, etc.), but this is to be expected as is every book that becomes film. For example, there are many things that got changed from the Harry Potter books when made into movies, but the movies are still very good. Same can hold true for this series as well. This is a brand new show that hasn’t even premiered yet, and I feel it is unfair that so many people are writing it off before even watching an episode.

As for the Twilight saga, I don’t see that there are too many similarities between the two. I’m not a huge Twilight fan as there are just too many things about the vampire world created in these books that bother me. At least in the Vampire Diaries, the fact that the vamps can get around during the day is compensated by their custom-made rings that protect them from sunlight. I may be slightly closed-minded as I tend to base my views of the vampire world on those of my all-time favorite show, Buffy, but I honestly see the Vampire Diaries as being more realistic than Twilight.

Long story short, I hope people will give this show a chance!

    21. Ekzotika says:

      I will give it a chance…

    22. Sarah says:

I agree with ‘Whit’ cause you can’t always compare everything to twilight! (btw I’m a huge fan of twilight but the film was awful, especially if you have read the books too!!)
And i agree with ‘Jenna’ cause Vampire diaries hasn’t even aired yet so i don’t think we should all judge it before its even started. I also prefer the vampires with attributes like they cant go into sunlight and stuff and who knows, maybe that will be included later on? i wouldn’t know, cause I’ve never read the vampire diary books, so basically i agree that people should give it a chance!

    23. Ellen says:

      @sarah
“I agree with ‘Whit’ cause you can’t always compare everything to twilight!”

When watching the trailer of Vampire Diaries, Twilight literally jumped into my mind. I didn’t have to try hard. Moreover, I am convinced the makers are doing that on purpose to profit from the movie’s success. I think the comparison is justified. *shrugs*

Personally, I really liked the way the landscapes were filmed in “Twilight”. As for the rest, I didn’t care much. ;-)

    24. LP says:

vampire romance is the new thing on the market, true blood, twilight ect. its got such a hype they are making a lot of vampire movies/shows. the old vampire movies, dracula 2000, blade ect. all made the vampire look like the bad guy, and it didnt get a big fan crowd.

for the record twilight was ONLY good on paper. the acting sucked. (sorry twilight fans) i read all the books, and the last one was a really let down. it was just to make the fans happy.

i like true blood better as a show. tho i think bill could be a little younger looking and not so “fatherly” looking.

i just started the vampire diaries and so far its pretty good. im excited about it being a show.

    25. Whit says:

See I have been into the whole vampire romance for a long time. I started reading the Sookie books at least 5 years ago. So the fact that everything gets compaired to Twilight really sucks because most of these things were around long before and deserve to be judge on their own.

    26. Rouge says:

Vampire Romance is not a new thing you forget the sensation that was Buffy and Angel the cult classic that helped Vampires into prime time tv!

if it wasn’t for Joss Whedons success and the nations love for Vampires these new shows/Movies would not exsist!

As for breaking the rules with day walkers in Twilight cast you mind back to BLADE the exception to the rule!

Everyone has a different idea of a vampire and i myself am just happy that now we have more vampire programs to watch and enjoy its been far to long a wait!

Buffy, Angel, Blade, Moonlight, Blood Ties, True Blood, Twilight, Dark Shadow and we all no just because its Vampire Related we will give Vampire Diaries a go too and the new film New Moon Rising!

I must confess that I am a Buffy/Angel lover through and through however True Blood is Fangtastic and addictive and i feel more appealing and suductive to an older audience!

    27. babrie says:

i think main guy is ok… i mean the book did mention his brother suposed to be hotter and well.. thats true haha

    28. ShawnMarie says:

I love all things supernatural. I wish they would make the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon into a television series. I will give this show a chance. Some parts look good and others a little boring. So I will hold judgement until I have actually seen the show.

    29. DTk says:

The Vampire Diaries Vs. True Blood WTF. Its The Vampire Diaries Vs. Twilight. TRUE BLOOD Its THE BEsT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!KING

    30. kopfjaeger says:

The Vampire Diaries is not going to be even close to True Blood i think The Vampire Diaries is a lot like that retarded movie Twilight witch just raped the shit out vampires and the poeple who made it should be killed The Vampire Diaries a BIG LAME

      • Ekzotika says:

        Why are you so stupid?

If you dislike Twilight, respect the fans. There are a lot ones and it´s really a movement. The books are hossom, the 1st movie not so good, but there will be others.

I like True Blood a lot, but i love Twilight too.

There are space in the Vampire Scenery for all species and kind of them.

        • melly says:

I loved the first book. I think i will enjoy the movies a bit more starting with new moon. Overall i felt the author did a nice job in creating the story, the differences, but i could not relate to the character so well.

Which has nothing to do with her book at all. It speaks for itself in how it sold. I love all the angel, buffy, roswell, TB the most, and I think this will be an ok watch. (missing moonlight).

    31. kopfjaeger says:

Ture Blood #2 show HBO ever made

    32. kopfjaeger says:

      True*

    33. Jesse says:

I can kind of see why people are relating VP to Twilight but it looks like it might be pretty decent. I’ve never read the books because I can only get sucked into so many vampire novels. After watching True Blood for so long it can be hard to compare any other vampire movie, show, or book to this series. True Blood though is targeted to mature adults as VP and Twilight aren’t and that’s good because young teens really shouldn’t be watching True Blood anyways. The thing is you can’t compare True Blood and VP because they’re just not even in the same range. I’m just so happy to see paranormal/supernatural shows making a comeback because my heart broke when Buffy, Angel, and Roswell left the scene.

      • Mary says:

I think I love you. I haven’t watched all of Buffy but I loved Angel and Roswell (especially) and i completely agree that True Blood is a great comeback.

      • melly says:

I agree Jesse. I’d watch it for the sheer SCI fi aspect. No more reality tv. please…. hehe

    34. Jesslyn says:

The actors/actresses for this new show really aren’t that attractive… Yea. Pre-teen audience for sure.

And if there’s a movement for all these supernatural shows… turn Artemis Fowl into a movie or series!

    35. James says:

      ***SPOILERS****

A tv show about a young girl in a small country town, who meets a vampire from the civil war era. There is a series of murders investigated, and a second vampire competes for the girl’s love.

      True Blood?

No, its another show (Vampire Diaries) stealing their storyline.

    36. melly says:

vampire diaries was written in the 1990′s. Its older than twilight. Perspectively, they are just different, which is why I liked LJ smiths take on it. (she wrote before the twilight series). there is no simularity aside from changes that are physical and that vampires are so popular now. I’m going to watch it just to see how it unfolds, since i read them way back. I hope they are good-not expecting anything like TB-but something differernt from buffy and twilight is still awesome. :) try the first four books, but they are young adult. (most vamps have a girl between them, a love triangle, and someone always dies!)

    37. kayyy says:

so so soooo annoying how true blood is the only TRUE vampire portrayal and how everyone tries to make them look more innocent or something with the whole being able to walk around in the light….they should be exactly the way anne rice describes them in her books, of which true blood is spot on…

    38. dicki says:

anxiously waiting for season 3. i started luving bill. he have the vampire handsome look.

    39. seth says:

True blood is so…sexy and amazing. can’t help it. not just for the vampires but from sex in a cemetary to spazes of gore/blood. its just how i love wastig my monday nights. everything about the series keeps me hooked. please hurry season 3:)
but vampire diaries. sorry. the girls annoy me and stephens to nice. it damien that keeps me up on thursday nights after work:)
gosh he makes you really want to be one:) cant wait, season 2

    40. seth says:

ps. twilight can plainly suck it
but i do thank it dearly for bringing the u proar for the vampire epidemic:)
but alice and jacob are still so damn gorgeous.

    41. Viggie says:

      amen seth, amen.

    42. Laphong says:

Vampire Diaries is definitely not a teen twilight-ish series. It has sex. and drama. and blood. and some scary pop ups.
