The Vampire Queen – What’s Up With The Leg?
Bill got an audience with the vampire queen in no time. When he walks of to the 
throne he is greeted as Mr. Compton by one of the guards. It is quite obvious that Bill isn’t there for the first time.
In the first season, the queen was only mentioned indirectly so far. In the episode Mine Bill talked of higher authorities.
Bill Compton: The three of you will stay away from me and Sookie from now on.
Malcolm: I’m your elder. You have no authority here.
Bill Compton: There are higher authorities.
Malcolm: I’m not afraid of Eric.
Bill Compton: Higher than him.
Malcolm: When than she can speak to me.
Diane: She can suck on sunlight for all I care.
This dialogue could be seen that Bill has at least a closer relationship to the queen than any of the other three vampires in the room.
If memory serves the first time the queen mentioned was in Shake And Fingerpop by Eric: “You should remember that I am your sheriff, Bill. We are not equal. And if that displeases you, take it up with the Magister or the Queen.”
The queen seems to stay in a rather fancy palace, but I wonder what up with the bloody leg. Bill looked to be rather taken aback by this sight. Maybe the queen had a late snack?

Of course this wasn’t his first trip to see the queen. If you recall in season one at Malcolm’s house when he was fending off Malcolm, Diane and Liam by first telling them Sookie was his THEN saying “she” wouldn’t be pleased if something happened to Sookie. Dian’e response was “she can suck ice” or something like that. Bill was referring to the queen. Which leads to the question of HOW and WHY would Bill know what the queen would or would not like when it comes to Sookie and HOW did the queen come to know about Sookie to begin with?
Answer via the book – the queen sent Bill to seduce Sookie for her own use. She found out about Sookie via Hadley (Sookie’s cousin). Although the tv series is “very loosely” following the book plots – I have noticed the basic relationship lines are being followed:
1. Bill is a liar – thus far he has lied to Sookie twice that we know of.
2. Eric has lied to Sookie once (the bullet sucking scene).
3. Initially in the books Sookie was fearful of Eric but grew to trust and eventually love him. In the TV series she was initially fearful, then repulsed and now finding herself attracked physically. I know everyone believes its the blood – however – WHY didn’t the blood have the same affect on her and Bill. I mean she seems like uncontrollably and passionately attracked to Eric. Thus far she seems to be constantly dreaming of him. I don’t believe (based on the books and CH’s webpage FAQ) that the blood MADE Sookie desire him, I think it enhanced her basic emotions/desires that were already there.
4. As for Eric and his manipulations of Sookie – well….yes. Bill has manipulated her as well in a far greater way. Which I hope will be revealed and based on how the character relationships are going it seems it will be.
sorry but before putting info like that from the book can you PLEASE put spoiler before cause im reading the books atm and it’s things like that i’d like to find out for myself,

I just finished book 3, although I only started reading the series on Monday, so I’ve powered through them… I can’t put them down lol. And I don’t know why, but I love reading the spoilers on here. It’s always just enough to be generally interested and know the big things, but it still leaves so much out that the books are just so entertaining.

The leg isn’t Lorena’s, it is a blonde girl with blue jean shorts w/calico trim and pigtails. There is a promo photo with the Queen and Bill sitting poolside @ her compound. The pigtailed girl is sitting with her legs in the pool and you can see the fang marks in Bills favorite spot, the femoral artery in the inner thigh………….

No wonder bill is so shocked, that leg is none other than Sookies cousin, Hadley Hale!!!!

Do you suppose that the Queen hasn’t tapped on Bill yet in the TB series, or like the books where he has full knowledge of his actions thus far? I am personally inclined to believe the latter……..

oh and you are saying hadley is blonde and pigtailed? not quite the case- she has dark hair and dresses in mostly black lycra and spandex, not really the pigtail type. in the books sookie comments on how different her and hadley are. it will be interesting to see her brought to the sreen

I honestly think it might be Sookie’s cousin and she’s just resting from Sophie feeding from her femoral. I have to say, I’m also hoping it’s Lorena and Sophie ripped her apart but I kind of would like Eric to do that maybe after Lorena threatens Sookie or does bodily harm to Sookie. Something like that.
Yeah – I think its cousin Hadley as well. Bill’s surprised that the Queen is feeding when he comes to visit, not because of who she’s feeding from. He already knows of Hadley. Back to series 1 episode 7 (I think) when Sookie is taking a bath with Eric, Sookie talks about Hadley being ‘lost’ to her as family. Considering Sookie had just lost her grandmother and only had 1 living family member that she knew of, that would have been a perfect time for Bill to fess up about Hadley being ‘alive’ and well in New Orleans as the Queen’s plaything. But surprise, surprise – he says nothing.
I mean’t a bath with Bill. Typing ‘Eric’ was wishful thinking. Sigh!
When I saw your typo, I laughed. I wish that Eric was Sookie’s first. Then Sookie would be in the bath with Eric, but I think that instead of draining and then dropping Uncle Bartlett in the lake, Eric would have ripped him apart. That’s wishful thinking on my part.
Hmmm – Eric ripping apart deviant Uncle Bartlett would have been far more interesting and satisfying than Bill draining him, but explaining the cause of the various body parts in the lake might have been difficult; unless it was a lake full of aligators and a broken wheelchair.
