I just recently got into True Blood, and I LOVE it. I think the best episode so far was episode 9 & 10. I cried in both of them. I hated to see Godric go. He had such a sweet spirit, and man. It was just sooooo emotional when he just burst into flames. I was balling like a baby. I can’t wait to see Frenzy, cause the town people are NUTZ.

Eric loved Godric like you love your own father. Nothing sexual about it. Godric brought him up in their Vampire world, much like our parents brought us up.
They have spent a thousand years together! Talk about being close, They know and understand each other better than anyone. Great loss for Eric

Eric’s relationship to Godric was like father son. That is why it was so important for him to get Godric back and why he didn’t want Godric to step down or go. The most emotional part was when Eric cried, and begged him not to go. I was falling apart. I really didn’t like Eric at first until when he cut his hair, and then I started falling in love with his mean, sarcastic, sadistic “bad boy,” role.
HE is sooooooooooo sexy to me with the new cut…it is just soooooooo him….OMG…I LOVE ERIC…
Finally!!! I was hoping we’d get some Eric-centric scene. In 9 there are too many to count. YAY!!! Love him!
Father, brother, son. All at once. Each to the other.
But that’s just Eric and Godric. In book 6? 7? (this is not a spoiler), Pam claims she doesn’t love Eric then describes what she does feel, and the sum of what she feels adds up to love. But she is vampire; she can’t admit to love. And love is not what book-Eric feels toward his maker, who is not Godric.
Harris says the maker-child bond is the strongest one there is. A vampire cannot disobey a command from his maker and must answer when called. Which is not on the phone.

Maker and child can physically feel each other’s death, real time. As Harris explains somewhere on her website, if Eric had died instead of Godric, both Godric and Pam would have felt it, though she was presumably left in charge in Shreveport. It’s the same type of strong compulsion that prevents vampires from entering a human’s home without an invitation and makes them leave immediately if the invitation is rescinded.
Is this also how Lorena appears in Sookies (dream sequence w/Eric) as she is Bill’s maker and has a third party blood bond? I wondered because they made it seem as if Sookie could feel Godric’s remorse and dispair before she went to the roof. She had no sense of Godric b4 being professionally suckered (ha-ha) by Eric earlier in the show.
Hmmm. Possible, very possible.
It would make sense that the child’s blood would be from the maker, and thus an extension of the maker. Of course Sookie is observant and was listening closely to Eric and Godric’s exchange, so she may have done the math.
Do children also inherit their special talents from their maker? I wonder, can Pam fly? I think she can on screen (from the first meeting at Fangtasia). We don’t really know in the books yet. But there is a situation where all the several children of one vamp share her talent. Or the maker has the active part of the talent and the children the passive.
One problem with the way they did the bullet sucking on screen is that what creates a blood bond is the exchange, so HBO needs to engineer a situation soon in which Eric tastes Sookie’s blood. A sip will do it. If they haven’t changed this basic facet of vampire rules.
And did anyone else remember that after Sookie had Bill’s blood in the first season, she had two erotic dreams about him?
In the book, Sookie got beaten up by Gabe, then in a car accident while escaping the church, so her arm was full of glass. When she got back to the hotel, Bill was off raiding the church with Stan (and looking for her), and Eric was waiting on the curb. Eric gave her arm first aid, and in doing so he helped himself to some of her blood. (Of course, his saliva would heal her fast. Ahem.) This means when she sucked the bullet out, that was their first blood exchange.She took the bullet home with her as a souvenir. Sookie was so black-and-blue that she had to go to the party in a loose knit dress, no underwear. That got her many compliments.
i cant remember if it was in the episodes earlier but in the book eric pam and chow got to have her blood because of the menead attack
Yes, because when Godric made Eric he said to him, “Father, brother, son.” That is the key to their relationship. He raised him and taught him in the way of the vampire though he was made younger he was older in his wisdom as a vampire. Brother because many of their experiences were together, and son well that is self explanatory. ^5 @ Dee I love the way you break down the association and everything in relation to the book and the show.

HBO has ordered season 3. Alan Ball said in an interview he was going to try to get the first 2 or 3 episodes of season 3 in the can before Xmas 2009. Estimated release date of season 3 is apparently the US summer – June 2010 maybe.
i don’t think there gonna finish after this season, i mean they have like 9 books to go off so they have a lot of material let. i totally love true blood, i’m from the uk and saw an add for tb and then found this site, it was a god send, keep it up its great.

They totally killed the sucking bullets scene, she pouted like a baby (understandable I guess when they do it this way, but still), that was one of two moments from this book i was looking forward to

It’s not just you. In the book, she argues with Eric about it. He’s the one who wheedles. And Bill is not there, he’s off in vampire revenge thrall for a much longer time. As someone already posted, she doesn’t think about the consequences of having just two drops of Eriic’s blood until much later
I think Eric really enjoys getting Sookie to do things she doesn’t want to when his only means is reason and persuasion. Unlike all other humans he knows, who are no challenge at all if he can catch their eyes. Bill apparently has gotten over that. He just yells.

I am so with all of you lol. I was looking forward to this scene for weeks!!! I feel like they made sookie look like a whiney bitch which we all know she is not…its mentioned over and over how “good” she is….she would have never acted like that no matter who is was
I was also very disapointed with where they went with the bill story line after the “bombing” That break up in the book is huge and now we are going to get to see another scene I was hoping for…the football game scene and well after the game lol

This episode had everything! But I must say that Alexander Skarsgard’s acting was the best, if not the only in this episode. He was a chameleon from being an arrogant, evil, funny, sarcastic, to being human–crying in front of Sookie and Godric. I hope that we get to more of this ‘dream’ that Sookie had and see it in the real world! I can’t wait to see next week’s episode!
I totally agree with you. He looked so..human, so normal and laid-back compared to his usual stoic ” I’m a damn Vampire, here me RAWR” attitude, especially in Sookie’s dream.
And I loved the way Sookie kept sneaking peeks at Eric, while they were talking about the previous nights events.

I think what tara is refering to is Maryanne’s god. Like someone said before, she feds off of others emotions and sins. She needs offerings, which is why she wants Sam. So I’m thinking Tara is refering to the devil himself, if not only Maryanna.

Well, this is not the first episode Eric shows some feelings although now its just blissful to see how they appear. I remember the look on his face during Bill’s trial when Bill was sentenced to make Jessica a vampire. Eric knew what that meant to Bill and showed somehow some feelings of pity. I know there where some people here who believe that Eric might have had something to do with that sentence but still I can’t forget that look. It makes things more interesting.
it so sad that godrk died. even though 2000 years of not being able to see the sun with your own eyes probobly was not worth loosing your life but he just could live in bon temps with eric and have some athority

i loved ep.9 it was amazing. it was so sad in the end when godric died but i like the way he died. he didn’t burn up the way bill was burning in ep.11 or was it ep.12 when he tried to save sook from rene, nope godric died in a mad ass way with blue flames and it was way faster.
i loved eric in this ep. but the crying surprised me, but it went with the scene and i thought it was sweet.

I hope the chemistry between Sookie and Eric become more prominent! I’ve read all the books, and the last one, dead and gone has been my favorite. I love how Sookie and Eric are sort of “married/engaged”, but at the same time I still want Sookie to end up with what she wants. Someone she can live a normal life with who will allow her to have children. The only two that I could see her ending up with are Sam, or Quinn. I kind of like Quinn more out of the two….it’s so confusing lol! What do yall think?

I think Sookie was less than enthusiastic that Eric didn’t tell her about the dagger. She also fears that all that is between her and Eric is the blood bond.
At the end of the book the blood bond seemed to have faded.
I don’t think, Quinn will be an option, but you are right, it is all very confusing.
I really like Sam. He really seems to care for her, but I think she just sees him as a friend. Still, in the big picture he would be my second best bet.
The way the story is laid in “Dead and Gone” I think Sookie will at least think seriously about Bill.
Being tricked into a formal vampire marriage, Eric is the only vampire that can have access to Sookie on pain of final death. I see a great potential for danger if she decided on Bill. Plus I think he really loves her.
Did Charaine Harris say the big decision will happen in book 10?

I will say I like Sam much better in the series, though either way I don’t think he has a real chance with Sookie. At least in the series he has a spine and a life of his own…not always pining away for a girl he can’t have with puppy dog eyes (sorry couldn’t resist)

I like Eric much more than the others, i want sookie to end up with eric but i also want her to have what she wants with a normal life with kids and a family. I think sam is a good second choice for her but i hate Bill more than anyone for all of the pain and heartache he put sookie through, i think she should stay away from him!

This episode was eipc. It showed us about godrics kind nature and how he has developed himself from being a killer by nature (making eric) to willingly going with the church. I loved how we got to see a whole other side of Eric, the compassion and love he has for Godric really hit me. I cried when Eric and Godric had their last talk and how Sookie promised Eric she’d stay with Godric til the end. I also think that Godric’s asking of her to watch over Eric will come later.
Now, about Maryanne. all I can say is WOW. She is a bloodthirsty, evil, and needy devil woman. A beautiful woman turns out to have an ugly side. Her sacrifice needs are growing with each episode, as are her feedings off of peoples sins and emotions. Especially those parties to use as her feedings. I can’t wait to see what happens with her, Sam, Tara, Hoyt w/ Jessica, and the now love quadangle between bill, his maker, eric, and Sookie. What will happen? We shall see tonight everyone

Wow!! Episode ten was reallly good!! I hate how it ended though!! Ugh a whole week to go until episode 11!! I wonder who the Queen Bill went to see is?? Can’t wait!!

This whole season has, simply put, been a ‘gracious plenty.’

On a sadder note: I’m gonna be totally lacking on my vampire fix after the season ends, till it comes back. I guess I’ll just HAVE TO watch The Vampire Diaries.

Is it just me or was this episode 10 minutes shorter than the others? Don’t they usually run 54-55 minutes? Well this episode was only 44 minutes
That’s totally uncool if they are trying to cheat us out of a whole 10 minutes!!
And why are some people not under Maryanne’s influence? Like the drunk cop (who redeemed himself slightly with this episode) and Jason?
And why was Terry able to semi-snap out of his zombie attitude enough to realize Charlene was in danger? Even she wanted Jason to shoot her, but Terry knew that was something he needed to stop.

Yeah, when I watched it on HBO, it ran almost a full 10 min less than usual.
At the same time, you shouldn’t really be claiming to be “cheated” out of ten minutes, as you don’t pay to watch this or anything.
I think he’s trying to get Lafayette in trouble, then Sookie will agree to help Eric with whatever he needs later on in exchange for saving Lafayette.
The drunk cop only “partied” with Mary Ann once, and apparently some people go quicker than others (AKA Sheriff Dearborne). And Jason hasn’t even met her, so there’s no way she could influence him.
And Terry could “semi-snap out” cause part of him was still there, part of Tara was still there too, It was just harder to reach cause of all the rituals she’s been through.
i was really upset to that the show ended earlier then normal. i was watchin it on satlight on hbo and they filled in the 10 extra minutes with this made up news report on vampires. it had nothing to do with the characters.
im not sure about the cop. but has for jason he has had vampire blood. same with sookie and jess and jess’s bf. seems to me vampires and ppl who have ahd vampire blood dont get changed. and as for terry he really cares for charlene so his emotions were stronger then maryanne’s spell…
anyways thats what i think.

When he first said he knew someone who might know I thought he was going to find Lorena.
Personally, I was a little bored with this episode. I’m a little over the maenad thing but at least things moved forward quite a bit. With 2 episodes left I wonder what story line they will introduce to lead in season 3.

I agree that the maryanne story is dragging but I think they might be leading us back to the books….
From what i have seen and heard of spoilers…the people leaving this season are the people that died in the book. So maybe this big “party” that is planning with be a connecting story line to the books….Bill is gone as in the books so maybe we will get to see eric in spandex?? one can only hope lol….
Tara as of right now is unaffected by the maenad as in the books and eggs still is.
So seems to me like we may end on the same note??
