about last night episode…it was a great episode in terms of acting. not soo much in story development, but the acting was superb.
whatta great cast, even secondary caracters are the creme of the crop when it comes to acting.
the scene were Eric begs Godric to not meet the sun..was touching, these scene revealed a lot to me….Vampires do evolve…Godric did.

I love Sookie and Eric together, i hope the series follows the books in the way their relationship progresses. I liked the fact that in episode 9 we saw the softer side of Eric, and so did Sookie. however i have no idea how im going to last a whole YEAR without true blood. I love this site as i like in england and the first series has only just started. I suggest everyone who loves this series reads the books, there completly different and therefor keep you guessing untill the very end. Thanks to the guys who run this website, completly appreicate it!!!
Lauren the only thing that concerns me about the relationship between Sookie and Eric is how they are pushing her attraction to Eric as being based on his blood. In the books – as you know – thier relationship develops naturally and slowly – its a very atagonistic (sp?) relationship. What holds her back in the books is more that she fears Eric not so much that he repulses her. Now with the whole blood erotic dreams – I dont see how she will ever be able to say or be comfortable with a relationship she will constantly be questioning its origin. WHY WHY WHY isnt she questioning her feelings for Bill with this new erotic blood information?
I loved this episode! the acting was so…touching, I cried when Eric was begging Godric not to kill himself but there’s something I wanna know..
Why did he did it in the first place?! was it because he was sick and tired of being a vampire and just wanted to die, to see what’s next or what?

Godric in the books is sexually attracted by children….and he kinda has evolved, he has learned that his survival brings pain, violence and demise. 2,000 is a long time…we really dont understand how long it is. Godric kinda sort of.. has reached a level not many(if any) vampire’s have achieved, he has some how stopped thinking like a vampire and began thinking more like a human..other vampire’s trough out time get more and more detached to their past humanity…Godric in the other hand got closer to it. Godric to my understanding is a vampire with an ideology, a revolucionary of the vampires ways of thinking, open minded…2,000 years has taught him to not let vampiric impulses dictate his actions. guilt caugh up with him (remember he ask sookie if she believed in God…he seeks redemption for what he’s done) and he just couldn’t go on, meeting the sun and burn to him signified washing away his impurity and deep inside the believes that every vampire should do the same, that is why he told eric that “their existence was insane..and it was wrong”

I am in the process of reading book 2 again — weren’t there actually 2 vampires in the basement of LODI? Godric was the pedofile and there willingly. wasn’t there another one? For some reason this is sketchy for me. I don’t think Godric was a sherif – I thought he was a “very close” friend of the Sherif for that area that happened to be homo-sexual.
Godric was also NOT Eric’s creator. When Sookie went to Godric in the books to watch his “walk into the sun” Eric was not there.
Dont get me wrong I thought it was an excellent way to show Eric has feelings — but I dont think it really matters at this point because whatever feelings Sookie has or THINKS she has for Eric she will now and forever more blame them on the blood (which blows).
I WAS AMAZED! my fave episode so far (ep 9)…I loved Godric, he was so sincere & wise I was almost crying when he died…The whole scene with Eric & Sookie made me cringe..they look toooo weird together I hate it. Bill and Sookie’s relationship is pure! But it was nice to see a softer side to Eric as he’s so monotonous all the time but the acting was great…<3 Godric <3

To answer dirtbag’s question, Eric and Sookie do end up going out or whateva cause it turns out Bill isnt as sincere in loving Sookie as he makes out he is! He has more important things on his agenda! I absolutely love Eric though!
It seems funny that everyone answers peoples questions with what little they know from the books. “Loosley” based on the books is a good description, as you have no actual way of knowing which direction Allan Ball will take his version of these characters. Everyones love for Eric and didain for Bill is based o the books, not what is unfurling on the TB tv show.

this is true. But a LARGE portion of the TV show’s fanbase came to watch AFTER reading the books. It would probably be a detriment to the show to veer too far from the books on the relationships Sookie has with different men. I for one dont think I would even like the show if they changed her relationships with Bill, Eric, Alcide, Quinn, etc.. She learns something from each one and it strongly influences her personality and the books.

I agree “loosely based” is correct — BUT — if you analyze the basics of the relationships in comparison to the books they are (or were) pretty much on par. In fact dead on.
In the books, Bill continiously lies to Sookie, he treats her like a posession constantly. In book 1 Bill tells her outright the ONLY reason he saved her from Malcolm, Diane and Liam is because “she is special” while he is pointing at her head. NOT because he loves her.
While Eric isn’t as lovie dovie, emotional or all touchie feelie. He lies to Sookie ONCE in the entire series and that was with the whole suck the bullet out of shoulder scene. In the books he tells her that his skin will grow over it if she doesn’t suck it out. The rest of the season he is honest with her, at times brutally honest. In fact, when Eric told Bill to go after the humans when the bomb went off? HA! HBO is cutting Bill some serious slack because in the books Bill just runs off — he doesn’t even BOTHER to check on Sookie. It’s Eric that is there for her.
Sookie isn’t repulsed by Eric in the books – she is afraid of him – and slowly learns to trust him (pre-orgie in book 2 – Sookie tells Eric she trusts him). The whole while Bill is growing disinterested in Sookie because now he has that computer program thing he is working on for the queen.
What I am concerned about is how ALAN is making Sookie’s attraction to Eric stem from the blook ingenstion.
Sookie dreamt of Bill after she drank Bill’s blood to save her live in season 1 and than she fell in love with him. (Before that she intrested to Bill only because Bill is the 1st Vampire she ever met).
In Season 2 Sookie dreamt of Eric after she accidentally swallow his blood and become attracted to him.
****SPOILER**** If AB following CH book later sookie truly will fall in love to eric after knowing him better but she always doubt her filling because of the blood bond.

The books never ever blame Sookie’s feeling for Bill or Eric on the initial blood ingestions. The blood bond comes from simultaneous consumption on both parties part. Like at the convention between Eric and Sookie. In the books Sookie and Bill never technically have a true Blood Bond. In the last book Sookie starts to question her feelings for Eric because of the depth of thier blood bond. I HOPE she realizes she loved him before a true blood bond was formed.

Where to start, the preview had me wetting my pants. Jessica attacking Hoyt’s mom (the look in his face). The look of dismay as Sookie and Jason pull into town. The helplessness in Bill’s face when he says he hasn’t the power to kill Maryanne…. (ouch!) Jason with a chainsaw….(go Jason). Sam getting attacked. Sookie being choked by Maryanne while Bill is standing there helpless….Tara’s scary ass look in her eyes….My one big question, Who the hell is Eric biting with such ferocity… I frame by framed the whole preview and they never showed??? Still…..JASON WITH A CHAINSAW :} Also still missing Godric :{

THE EPISODE WAS INTENSE. SOOKIE KISSES ERIC!!! lot of tension between bill and sookie….bill is acting more jealous and obsessive and sookie seems to be annoyed at him. i have a fealing they gonna break up.

I didnt notice any tension between Bill and Sookie, other than when he was leaving to go get help – but that was more like a seperation anxiety type thing.
Eric does not kiss Sookie — it was another erotic blood dream (lame concept).
Read the books — yeah they will break up eventually.
When I first watched the promo I wasnt very excited. The Menaed storyline just isnt the same in the book and I like the book version SO mush better. But now I am so glad it seems this will be the end of MaryAnn FINALLY!

IF Allan Ball chooses to put Bubba in the series then I think it would be in the third season (going by the books that is when he shows up, right?) It would be cool if they decide to leave him in the storyline.
Heh – actually Bubba was supposed to make an appearance in Season 1. Bill has him guard Sookie while he goes out of town to get voted into the position of area five investigator.
Somehow I dont think we will ever see Bubba – sadly.

In the books, Bubba is a vamped out Elvis XD He still had some spark of life in him when he ended up in the morgue, and one of the attendants was a huge fan and brought him over, but something went wrong cause he was so full of drugs when he passed over that he’s a little slow. He prefers cat blood to human blood and freaks out whenever people call him Elvis, so that’s why he’s called Bubba instead. The vampires try to keep him out of sight, and use him to run errands all across the US – he even becomes Sookie’s “bodyguard” essentially – but every now and again, he’ll wander off and a human will spot him, sparking off a whole load of rumors that he never really died XD

One thing that confuses me…this whole ’swap blood 3x and you have the blood tie’ issue with eric…surely Sookie has that with Bill too by now? They never made a big deal of that, or implied that’s one of the reasons she’s attracted to him?!
If you remember in the very begining of season 1, there was the attraction between Bill and Sookie from the start. Thus why they probably have never mentioned the blood swap between them.

Im so exited, this will be a great episode. It was so sad when Godric perished. I wonder who the new sherrif of area 4 will be. I hope it will be Isabell. Godric is so nice, letting Hugo live. He would have been a great edition to the shows regular cast. And Eric, I beleive the part of Eric shown on the the top of the hotel is the real Eric. Tara is a simple pawn to Mary-Anne, she is just using Tara to get to Sam, Just like she used Daphne to get to Sam. Then she killed Daphne to get Sam trapped where Mary-Anne could find her. But Sam is a surviver, thank god ! I hope all ends well.
Thank you for those who are running this website. I have read all 9 books already. I love the new story line in the movie, since then it is not all the same as the book. But the MarryAnn seems to have too much power in the movie.
And I hate to say but Bill looks aweful. He looks so old and kinda bald.
He is the only character physically look way too different than the book.

Are we sure it Sookie’s dream was a dream? I can’t help thinking that Sookie really would have gone to see Eric after Godric’s death (not just dreamed she did) — so maybe she was dreaming something that actually happened. Just a thought!

Yes it was a dream — she wakes up in the bus thing with Jason – he asks her what she was dreaming about — Sookie pats Bill’s travel coffin and says “Bill.”
The whole “new power” thing is lame.
Waking up from a dream doesn’t mean that she wasn’t reflecting back on her return from Godric’s suicide. I am quite sure that she @ the very least let eric know she had returned, not that he couldn’t sense the pass of his maker…………….Especially when in her dreams Eric makes little comments like “This is just the beginning…”

The story progress was extremely slow – the best part was when Andy and Jason convinced the entire town that Jason was God. Especially with the branch thing being held up behind his head.
Other than that — total waste of air time and story progression.

Actually – Sookie gets involved with Alcid (sp?) – not physically (at least not in the books) but emotionally – THEN she gets in a relationship with Quin (the whole time sort of flirting/pissing Eric off repeatedly) THEN she finally gets into a relationship with Eric.
Season 3 – IF the books are even sort of followed – Bill is abducted – the entire book is spent with Eric telling Sookie that Bill lied to her about who he was meeting and why (turns out he went to meet his maker – he did cheat on Sookie), then the book is spent getting Bill back. SO with any luck – we will see alot more of Eric and alot less of Bill next year.

Maryann needs to die already. I dont really like how they dragged her out in the hbo series. I dont think sookie was dreaming a dream, i think it really happened. I think Bill going to see the Queen is the beginning of what season 3 is going to be about….Bill is going to have to leave Sookie to work for the Queen……And a chance for Eric and Sookie to be together! And Sookie’s new power in the show is something i didnt read in the books and i agree it is probably due to her fairy blood.

well – in book 3 Bill lies to Sookie about a business trip – he is really going to meet his maker – he has a sexual encounter with her. Then he is abducted (via his maker) and held hostage. This doesn’t go over well with Sookie — not so much the whole sex with you maker thing as him lying about his true reason for the trip.
LATER – Eric finds out the true reason for Bill to come to Bon Temps was because he was hired by the QUEEN to seduce Sookie – she heard about Sookie’s powers through Sookie’s cousin Hadley. So Bill didn’t get involved with Sookie because he loved her — he was hired to do so. Eric makes Bill confess to Sookie – which essentially kills thier relationship.
:O …. omg! how did u find this out!? the little ****** i hope sookie kicks his vampire ass. and then has lots of hot steamy sex with eric. hu is gorrrgeous
Jason was the top! One of my favourite scenes of this season.
Oh god I hate Maryann. She needs to die already. They’ve dragged it on for practically the whole season, can’t wait to see her finally leave. Jason was awesome in this episode, I hope they add him more into season 3. As for sookie, I wonder what the hell that special power is that she’s carrying that works on Maryann. Maybe she’ll be the one to get rid of Maryann. I’m really excited to see what happens next…I hate it how they leave you on a cliff hanger, so annoying.

Sookie always fall in love with vampire that gave her blood ( she drunk bill’s blood twice and drunk eric’s blood a drop or two when she suck up the bullet).
Sookie also had erotic dream after taking blood from bill in season 1. Did eric only follow what bill done to her to make it even for competition?.
I think she liked Bill before she drank his blood.She was intrigued that she couldn’t read his thought. I think most of the power of Bill’s blood was used in the healing process. Plus Eric’s blood is stronger.
Eric wants Sookie. I don’t think he knows why. There is more then one incidence when he tries to get her from Bill like one would treat an commodity.. *shrugs*
About the blood bond I have to say another thing.
Bill drunk the blood of his maker Lorena, and she drunked his blood too, and above all that… Bill as left her! And she has a lot of years too!
So the blood bond is a very misterious thing that works in ones, and not in others the same way.
Therefore I think there is no excuse to Sookie´s love be based on it.
I whole heartedly agree.
If you notice, when a human is “injured/damaged” they seem to use the blood for repair and the bond is minor or irrelavant. Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn’t Eric have felt Sookie/Laff when trying to bring Tara back? Another question…If vamps can’t glamour or read Sookie, than why can they all of a sudden get in her head w/blood. Allegedly Bill can’t influence her and that is part of his initial suprise when he meets her. Has it evolved since than and he hasn’t informed her, or is the editing a bit screwed up?

I just love the way Sam’s butt hangs out of the apron. Hilarious!!! XD. And Ryan Kwanten was as cute as ever!!!
So i just stopped at the library and got book one of the series… I’m really excited to start reading them. the librarian told me she liked the books a lot more. I can’t imagine liking them better than the show as that’s what I experianced first.
i know what you like what can be better than this show!
My question observations for this season:
*SPOLIER*
1. Eric was not created by Godric and his creator was not even discussed until much later in the series.
2. WHY isn’t Sookie questioning whether or not her feelings or the depth of them are real for Bill (IF) the blood seems to have a major affect on them.? It seems to me that the basic character relationships (Eric Bill Sookie) are permanently tainted, because of the whole blood thing and her having these sudden erotic dreams about Eric. I can see her blaming her feelings for Eric on the blood – which is so not the case in the books – at least not initially.)
3. I HOPE – Eric only lies to her once – as is true in the books. I am concerned they are painting Eric to be such a snake that he can’t possibly be anything other than that. In the books he has genuine feelings for Sookie, though he may not be a lovie dovie like Bill – his actions speak very clearly.
4. I was extremely disappointed to see they showed Eric being involved in Loraina showing up. He has nothing to do with that relationship nor Bill’s deception that ultimately ends the relationship between Bill and Sookie. In fact, Eric’s non-involvement is a big piece of him showing his feelings because he makes Bill confess to Sookie – when Sookie asks Eric why he made BIll confess – he tells her “Because it wasn’t right.” – which shows that Sookie Eric has the ability to be human and feeling.
I thought I read where this year was going to cover all of book 2 and part of book 3. Loraina calls Bill away (which Bill lies to Sookie about) then ends up being held. Eric finds out and goes to Sookie with the truth about Bill’s trip and employs Sookie to get Bill back. I am willing to bet we are left hanging with Bill missing.
I am ok with the entire story being changed and embelished to the point of non-recognition in comparison to the books – HOWEVER – I was HOPING the basic relationships remained true to the books because that is the biggest draw for me. I hope somehow Sookie realizes her draw to Eric isnt based on her drinking a few drops of his blood. I hope that Sookie does realize that Bill has lied to her repeatedly and I hope he gets revealed as to the true reason he came to Bon Temps to begin with.
Eric appears to gets interested by Sookie when Bill show with her in Fangtasia!
And after Bill killed another vampire, Eric get a lot more of attention to her, based on Bill´s attitude on risking his life to save her. Bill as saved her and get almost killed by the day-light as so, nothing interests anymore even if he was moved to Bon Temps to seduce her, he really felt in love by her and that pops up to our eyes.
For people who didn´t read the books and as Alan Ball changed very much of the storyline, we only can be based by the TV series and not by the books. As so and for what I have saw until know, I am up with Bill-Sookie love-story. And the mos very part of people only are on Eric´s side by his better look!
For me it seems like it is a really male-vamps competition for a humans-love! Really…
i wonder who that lady was that Bill went to? oh it just gets better an better but a week is just too long to WAIT!! eric is so sexy :]

I did not see Alex/Eric in the credits for the last episode…I hope it’s a typo. Bookies know that Bill is supposed to be taken (#3-Club Dead) BUT what if it’s Eric that Lorena wants to snatch since he caused her public humiliation in Dallas. TB really does not go by the book…Bill and Sookie are still going to be the focus of the show per AB.

Why did Sookie only have one dream about Bill in season one when she took tons of his blood, and like 2 about Eric over a few drops???
Let’s hear Lafayette: “The same V could affect you in a whole ‘nother way.”
You might as well ask why Lafayette does not have any sex dreams about eric. He had way more of Eric’s blood than Sookie.
To answer your question: Coming from an over 1000 year old vampire, I think Eric’s blood is way more stronger than Bill’s.
What’s even funnier to think about is Eddy’s blood affecting Jason in that way xD Although yeah, same deal with much (much) younger vampire, so way weaker blood.

you know.. Michelle Forbes (who plays Maryan) would have made a far better Claudine (Sookie’s Fairy Godmother) even if she makes a great Maryan.
I’m reading the books right now and whenever Claudine comes up I see Michelle Forbes.. I’m going to be so disappointed when I see someone else on sceen.
So.. to bad they already used her.
