Vamp Diaries was a good book series, but I saw the first episode and they changed almost everything… and the actors were lame. I won’t be watching that one, but I do reccomend everyone reading them though.

Well. in my opinion, the CW network has THE best shows REGARDLESS! One tree hill, gossip girl, and now the vampire diaries! They’re all amazing shows, with amazing cast members. Im not trying to start anything im just sharing my opinion as you have. Annd Cel, im guessing they made her brunnette, because they believed that the original setting and physical characteristics of Elaina, were to Fairy tale.

I must say that I was a little disappointed that they didn’t follow the book with Sookie and Eric attending the orgy and Eric being dressed up in the hot pink leotard. they are released on DVD right about when the next season premiers,,,in other words..sorry you can’t get it for chrismas, now if you know somebody currently deployed in Iraq or afghanistan they probably can get it for you bootleg in a very good quality, that will keep you entertained until it comes out.

The one I’m reading now called “Tasting Sin” is about Sookie and Eric and so far its absolutely hilarious – well I think it is any way. I think #4 Dead to the world and #6? All together Dead… I enjoyed the last book also but cant name it as a favorite because it made me cry at the end.
They are all sooo good!! You cannot put them down. Dead to the World is great, that is #4. #5 is Dead as a Doornail and with these two books you meet a lot of unique characters. Each book has its own personality!!!! Of course, 8 & 9 just take you deeper.

Finally read all the books! Thx to everyone for the recommendations and insight! I’m so so behind Eric and Sookie now! have to say if they’ve made Eric all evil I’m not going to be happy either – the book storyline is SO SO SO gd, I hope they at least try to come round to it! If you check IMDB the wonderful Ms Harris has actually had a big hand in writing a good few of the episodes; so I’m hoping and praying her genius influence continues!!!

I really am not liking how the bill/sookie/eric dynamic is going. bill is way to cheesy and romantic for a vampire. They have turned is character away from his vampire nature and that is really unfortunate. With the exception of the tears over his maker, all we see of eric is his evil manipulative side and that he wants to steal sookie from bill. What i liked most about eric’s character in the books was that he was always cocky and flirtatious with sookie. If Eric is behind bill’s kidnaping it will completely ruin the series. Hopefully they will get into the Bad side of bill next season and let Eric stop being the evil one all the time.

The good thing about this final episode is that it has cured my TB obsession. But I really..really hope that the 10th book can be publish earlier…i just can’t wait for the book.
I agree with a previous comment that sookie and bill were cute in this episode (omg his face was sooo cute when he proposed)!. I really hope they follow the book storyline though. I dont want them to make Eric evil but i think season 3 is going to be all about Eric trying to get closer to Sookie and him comforting her for Bill being gone. Remember in (I think Book 3 club dead) Bill gets kidnapped by Lorena/the King of Louisiana and sookie travels with Alcide the Were to try to save Bill. I cant wait for season 3, I think next season there will be an intro to the Weres and Bill will be gone for at least half of the season.
I totally agree with you. Although it kinda upset me that Bill proposed to Sookie because he doesn’t even do that in the books. Also what is up with Sophie ordering Eric not to taste Sookie? Doesn’t she already know that he’s already in love with her. Dur! Also in the books, Bill was called to Lorena’s side, she didn’t kidnap and it was the King of Mississippi that kidnapped him. I can’t wait to see who they choose to play Alcide. I totally hope that next Season is more Eric and Sookie! Go Team Sooric!
P.S. I will be really pissed if they don’t bring back all the major cast members back for the next season. I hate it when the actors change after you’ve gotten used to seeing a certain actress/actor playing the role.

It wasn’t bad, but the whole MaryAnne situation left me a little underwhelmed. It started off promising and ended up bordering on anti-climatic.
I thought HBO would kinda go hard for this one. I mean if anybody could have done it… *cough* Sopranos, Autopsy *cough*
It’s a MaryAnne vs. Callisto issue. I enjoyed watching MaryAnne, but I kinda wanted to see Callisto, if that makes any sense.
Part of me feels like in the end MaryAnne became too cartoonish. But, she was crazy. One of the “raving ones”. Makes perfect sense.
I wanted to see a fiercely indulgent creature, which she was but, not the way I wanted. She was kid in a toy store, like a hippy in a head shop. Callisto had a slithery, craving, Angelina Jolie in Beowulf kind of thing going on.
I think I just preferred the idea of a creature who is drawn drunkenness, lust, and pride and awaits tribute, then *crunchsplat* it’s all over. Maenad satisfied, maenad leaves; as opposed to creating it herself for this other reason.
But I totally understand why they wrote it the way the did.

It’s Lorena That kindnaps him in the book… It looks like it might be different On the show, Maybe it’s an order from the queen? In the books Bill brings alot of prestige to the state because he creates a Vampire database for the computer which he sells to other Vampires and makes his state lots of money. so the Queen Likes him and wouldn’t kindnap him. But the show looks like he is not as appreicated by the Queen. so who knows how the show is going to play out?

I really do like Bill and Sookie together. I think Eric just wants what he can’t have – I like what TB is doing with Bill and Sookie. Even if it does not follow the books totally – but that is what makes it so fun to watch. I never know what is really going to happen. I just read the last book out and I don’t care for the way that one was left…..but all of them are SUPER good reads. CH has such a great writers craft – can’t wait to see what happens next!
If you read the books you’d like Eric more… And you wouldn’t think that of him… Sookie and Eric Forever!

I agree with Anissa. I was completely underwhelmed with the whole MaryAnne plot. I think it was a nice side story, but to end the whole season with that climax? Give me a break. I feel that the writers should have focused on the Godric/FotS storyline as a major plot, that was intensely more interesting. Fans seem to appreciate Godric’s character- AB dropped the ball on that one.

Bill left because Lorena sumon him via email to meet her in Mississipi, and found he was once again in love with Lorena. He’s on the way to made arrangement for “sookie’s future care” with Pam and Eric, when he kidnapped.

Eric got his personality back when the witch killed, but only after the take over (book
he did remember his time together with sookie. Eric never used any “power” over sookie, not even after sookie told him that she’d killed Dephie Plat. He always protected sookie, he even stand for her in vampire court although he still did not understand his feelling for her.
Eric protected, support, and made sookie feel happy and beautifull and always told her the truth. Bill cheat on her, never care for what sookie’s need, rape her and try to made her queen’s political asset (and not brave enough to told sookie the truth after they become couple). That why i like eric more than Bill.

Uh last episode sucked. Not enough Eric(duh!) Too much MaryAnn and her “the God who comes” (Boy was that piece of plot drug out!). Bill/Sookie(YAWN!) that little fairytale was boring…
I was really disappointed in the last episode it took way too long to sort out the Maenad, I think the Queen was poorly scripted and uninteresting, Bill wins(WTF up? Alan Ball?) and gets Sookie(Eric/Sookie all the way), and it was just underwelming. I kept waiting for the episode to get engaging and it didn’t It just sat there sinking…..All I could think is “where is Eric and why doesn’t he show up and smirk?! I will be temporarily distracted and pleased!” He never showed up again after that stunt with the Queen! Grrrr! We better get some Eric/Sookie scenes again next season, until then I have to content myself with the Books and fanfiction…

I dont know about anyone else but i think its a good idea to have the story go one way and the tv version another.. That way we kind of have two versions of the same world dont get me wrong im team snarkypants (eric) all the way but i enjoy watching the tv series because it expands on all the story characters and it gives you fresh new plots to an already existing story like what ifs…
and anyway if they stook to the story on every line we would know what to expect and it will be twilight all over again ¬.¬ (still team jasper-kins mind you but dont get me started with that)
So i like how we see into other characters every day lives like tara and jason and hoyt and the new characters like jessica it keeps it fun to watch.
Furthermore HBO change storylines on purpose because they know us from Harrisarmy can imagine the book better in our heads rather then there replica on screen!
LOL i shall count down the days to see how they create season 3!

So… A. When does season three come out?
and B. Not to start anything but, don’t go off on people who are rooting for Bill+Sookie and vice versa (Eric+Sookie). Personally… I’m going for both, I like Eric, but I still like Bill (even though he can be a little over protective).
And I have read the books as well.

Do you happen to know any of the details as to why? Maybe they were negotiating contracts and trying to determine if they wanted to proceed with the series. I have seen some of the characters of True Blood on other television shows, since True Blood’s season end. Like the Rev. Newlin was a killer on The Mentalist this last week. It is fun to see who is going to show up where!! Oh, and Daphne was on a made a made for TV Movie on Lifetime last week. I think it was a 2007 movie, but to see her out of her soap role is fun. Jason and Sookie have made a lot of movies. Stephen Moyer hasn’t made a lot of movies, but he was so cute in those episodes with Debra Messing in The Starter Wife tv series.

Bill’s not veyr gorgeous. everytime i look at him i wish he was someone else or Eric. but i love him no less.
i think the season finale was kind of freak. i expected a hell lot more. or maybe it’s just because eric had so little screen time. lol. can’t wait for s3 where we’d surely get to see loads of eric!!!
