Wow, episode 8 is amazing…the ending just wow. and Godrick. he is a great vampire. I want Bill to make sookie a vampire already, that would be awesome…but this ending…i have to wait a whole week? gahhh

We’ve got more episodes of season 2 coming, I think we’re about halfway through the season right now. Not sure about when season 3 starts, will update the site with the info when I find out.
Season 3 is coming out June 2010! They have no doubt about the coming season! True Blood has over 11 million viewers every week!

this is a question for anyone who believes in god..i am a Christan and don’t get me wrong i loveeeeeee true blood been watching it on hbo every since the first season but latley this second season has been making me think a little..dont u think its getting a little evil and satanic..the first season wasnt so much about evil and the devil..and i dont know if i should feel wrong watching it????
I wouldn’t worry too much. As I see it, the show as such is very critical of satanism. Maryann’s parties are drawn in a very negative light.
Hoyt, a very positive character talks highly about his church: They teach me to be a Christian for one and not to hate vampires or anyone else. It would be easy for Alan Ball just to make fun of the church by ridiculing it through the fellowship of the sun ( I find the scenes hilarious by the way. ) . It love that he keeps it balanced.

Actually, each of the ‘religious’ sects in the books (and by extension the show now) are reflections of religious subculture in the “real world”.
Maryann – the Maynaid – is a figure of Greek mythology and her parties a mash of Wiccan and other pagan (ie. pre-Christianity) rites. Neither evil, nor satanic, the pagan cultural beliefs focused on a different (natural) direction than the specific martyring of any particular saint or scion of god… look up what the origins of a ‘maypole dance’ are sometime… those of you that used to do so as children might get a shock.
The Fellowship of the Sun was written (and is now shown in the show) to be a knee-jerk reaction to the ‘outing’ of the vampires to the mainstream public – in the way that ‘regular’ Christian (and other) faiths will continue to develop (and have developed) fringe and fanatic splinter groups when the ’status-quo’ doesn’t sit well with specific-minded membership. From Christianity came Catholicism which begat Anglicanism and Protestantism, etc… Lutheranism… etc… Mormonism… etc… etc… etc…

Sookie had it pegged, in season 1 with her gram. Jesus would not hate vampires, they are another of heavenly father’s creations (yes, I am a latter day saint). Also, she reiterated this in her captivity with Hugo that it was wrong to teach children to hate with those board games. Ditto anyone who proposes genocide of a group that has habits and a belief system different from theirs. This is how terrorism, racism, fascism, and all those evil -isms get their strength. Vampires who are not mainstreaming are no exception, and this is disturbing to me that Nan sent no mainstream memo to the Magister, for example. He is very secure running North America unchallenged by even the sherriffs and royalties governing the vampire territories. He almost lost control when Bill mentioned that there were those who thought differently, even telling Bill to “back his shit down”. But that attitude is all too prevalent in everyday life, as well as the True Blood world, alas.
Why can’t it come faster?!? I need my Eric-yummyness. *sighs* *growls*Time speed up!

OH MY GOD! these cliffhangers are killing me!
Hey All, I think that was one of my favourite episodes, really liking the Godric character (im male, so, please no YEAH GODRIC IS HOT COMMENTS) is anyone else a little worried though that something really bad is going to happen to him, maybe he dies in this bomb in the last episode. He seems far too nice and philosophical so far, he obviously has people in his own area that would like to see him gone (the cowboy hat bearded vampire, who I forget the name, who is so obvious, why hasnt Godric picked up on that?) I know he is a REALLY ancient vampire who has immense power but dosnt use it, but still, as we know True Blood is a very twisty turney kind of series. I just think that it would make great TV if they (the writers of True Blood) decided to kill off Godric, and see what sort of chaos erupted. I of course don’t want that to happen, but like any character in this series, all the nice ones are either corrupted, killed, or are protected, I dunno just thinking out loud.
the basis of the entire show so far, is way off from the books. for one thing. layette does not have a sister and he dies at the beginning of the second book, and tara is barely mentioned. eric stakes longs shadow and the cops are more in depth one is black female and the other is someone that sleeps with every female in the town secretly. sam sleeps with the naenad instead of being hunted by her in the next episode. godric is a rogue that repents and watches the sun rise and dies in the book. sookie gets help from the shapeshifter underground to escape the fellowship, and jason never joins the church. eric and sookie almost make out numerous times before bill finds out. etc.

Did anyone have a bad taste in their mouth after watching Eggs and Tara beg each other for rounds of physical abuse? It caught me off guard and I felt a little gross. Seems silly to care about that scene compared to those of corpses whose hearts have been ripped out and flambeed – still, it was hard to watch those two beating on each other. My opinion: that scenario screams a bit too much of real life domestic violence. Anyone else have similar thoughts? or disagree entirely?

I have to get this out of my system. I am watching the Comic Con True Blood panel videos, and everyone is all “AMG! AMG! ERIC! BLAHHH! HE IS SO HOT! AMG!” I just don’t get it. In my world he is so not the hot one. Sam is the hot one. Yes, Sam. I usually go for the mysterious vampire type myself, but for some reason…I am just so attracted to Sam. Just look at his hair. It is beautiful. His eyes. Oh, I love ‘em. If i would have been at Comic Con, I would have been all “AMG! AMG! SAM! BLAHHHH! YOU ARE THE SEXY ONE!” LOL. Okay. It’s out of my system.
Perhaps the Eggs and Tara part was meant to show us how evil Maryann is. It’s kind of building up to something. But it did bother me too but not as much as the heart scene. I was actually gagging as they ate it as I thought of Daphne.
