but some of the events criss cross like lerona we already know about her and the what about the king of texas who isnt godric and does all that stuff to the queen of lousina it is all jumbled up and really confuses u can already tell that the story line of the books and the one of the tv show will be DRAMATICLY different

The show differs from the books a lot so whose to say Sookie and Bill will even split? There are a lot of differences in the characters too; including one that doesn’t exist in the books and another that died in the book but not the show. I think it is fair to say True Blood will surprise us all.

i bet the majority of the viewers are women who like a good romance, i love this show, the love and chemistry sookie and bill have make this show,hope the writers keep them together, if they were to split in the show i might not watch,love a romance.
I think a lot of people who haven’t read the books might feel the way that you do. I think people who have read the books are for sookie and eric….remember this about a good romance, there is always a hint of dishonesty and who doesn’t love a good love triangle??? I would love to see it get spiced up a bit.

I love the books but even though they aren’t following them on the show it’s still awesome!! Somehow they stay enough with the book but somehow make it work. I can’t get enough. I can’t wait for the next book. I think it’ll end up with Bill and Sookie.

This is not true at all. Many, many of us are rooting for Bill. I read the book way before I saw the show. I have ALWAYS been for Bill. I do like Eric’s character, but honestly, not everyone is rooting for him.

I have read the books and I am fully aware of what you are suggesting. You might want to learn between then lines. Charlaine Harris put a lot of effort into it to keep Eric and Bill in the game, throughout all the books. If you keep an open mind, that is.
I never cared much for Eric as Sookie’s final choice at least. If Sookie ends up with Eric, I trust Charlaine Harris is a good author enough to make accept it. In the meanwhile I feel free to root for Bill.
KT – that makes me sad….I thought Bill won the humility card. I mean he went in the sun to save Sookie!!!!!
Now I loved that scene though where he and Lorena were getting down on that bloody bed WHILE that chic was dying..that was HOT!!!!

I dunno if I can wait until 2010 for it to come! I definitely recommend getting the books, the show and the books don’t really follow it in some ways, which I’m glad for, but in some they do. You never know whats going to happen in the show, even though I am forever rereading Harris’ books.
Series enjoy several years longevity as married couples play on screen roles…I Love Lucy (in the teens), the Nelsons (dysfunctional bunch), Early Mission Impossible (Martin Landau and Barbara Bain) 2-3 years. LA Law, was one of the more contemporary ones. Any other 21st Century onscreen couples?
Yes, me too, worried that HBO and Alan Ball decided to change the plot and let Sookie-Bill to the end! That’s not what the books had, at least until the 9th book! and I love the storyline: Sookie-Eric.
I’m already seen signs with plot of Eric summoned Lorena to go get Bill back to her, while that’s not what its written on the book. It made Eric appeared more devilish and tricky and he’s not. Well, he is a a-hole but he’s got true feeling for Sookie (if not for his political will).
Btw is it true that the book will finish on the 13th book? Will Sookie end up with no vampire lover? (eyerolls to Sam Merlotte)

Hey All, I think that was one of my favourite episodes, really liking the Godric character (im male, so, please no YEAH GODRIC IS HOT COMMENTS) is anyone else a little worried though that something really bad is going to happen to him, maybe he dies in this bomb in the last episode. He seems far too nice and philosophical so far, he obviously has people in his own area that would like to see him gone (the cowboy hat bearded vampire, who I forget the name, who is so obvious, why hasnt Godric picked up on that?) I know he is a REALLY ancient vampire who has immense power but dosnt use it, but still, as we know True Blood is a very twisty turney kind of series. I just think that it would make great TV if they (the writers of True Blood) decided to kill off Godric, and see what sort of chaos erupted. I of course don’t want that to happen, but like any character in this series, all the nice ones are either corrupted, killed, or are protected, I dunno just thinking out loud

In the preview I saw the house looked blakened and bombed when Bill rushes in w/several bodies. The chair looked like the queens throne **just thinking Lorena drank from Barry and noticed the difference in his blood, I am sure passing this on to the queen would be highly advantageous** Wonder what Sookies blood actually does to Bill as he doesn’t really express what he is thinking in the TV show, or at least not yet….
Maybe her blood makes Bill a lot more human then he already is! I don´t like Lorena… I hope that never happens that twist. I like Godric PERSONALITY too and i want to see more of him, but Barry the bell-boy too.

Oh yeah, cause he knows Eric doesn´t play fair. He arranges some strange way to get the things he wants… nothing like his maker! Sookie don´t want him as so he provoques situations to put them together, never is a spontaneous thing or that she really deserves! He´s cold.
Yeah a sex bomb, but that is the least important in a relation. People only like Eric more, because he´s more handsome than Bill, but Bill is much more human and he really loves Sookie. I never forget him in the sun, almost killed for her.

I am a total Team Eric girl (book Eric more than TB Eric) and I don’t just like Eric more than Bill because he is handsome. Yes that part definitely comes into it, but Eric is pretty upfront about his ways, while (in the books) Bill is a liar and cheater! Eric doesn’t try to hide the fact he is dishonest. He is Vampire and considers humans to be less than him and have little worth. He meets Sookie and immediately thinks about how he could use her for his own gains. He doesn’t but a ribbon on it and dress it up. In the books he told Sookie that although he doesn’t tell her everything, what he does tell her is the truth! *swoon* Whereas Bill doesn’t…

I’m COMPLETELY Team Eric. Of course I love him in the books, (where HE stakes Longshadow to save Sookie) but I also love him in the show. He’s trying to win Sook the way he’s always gone about getting the things he wants. I think that he will change his game up a little after that conversation with Godric about treating humans as equals. And this episode was our first real glimpse of funny “Book Eric” when he makes that little noise and says, “I heard my name, I hope you were speaking well of me.” *Sigh*

Does it not seem that the writers are trying to givr TB Bill all of the good characteristics. Even “if” Bill were sent to get Sookie, it truly appears that after having met/been with her that he has completely fallen for her. Though Eric is “honest” as you might say, actually he is very afraid to show his true self as in his eyes that would show extreme weakness. How can you be a sherriff if you are weak? This is going to be the problem w/Godric. Hopefully they don’t kill him but maybe bind with silver for a while so he can come back at a later date.
I didn’t really like it because the things that make the show good is Sookie’s human qualities and Bill’s inability to fit in with the standers of the human race. By suggesting that Sookie be made a vampire is kinda ruining that.

I haven’t read the books and I really like Bill and Sookie. The thought of Eric and Sookie together and not with Bill is sickening. The dynamic between Bill and Sookie is what has kept us glued to True Blood. I am delighted that the writers seem to be making a new path for True Blood apart from the book. I feel that the book and the show are two separate things – both to be appreciated and enjoyed independently of each other.
I like bill and sookie better on true blood than i did in the books…. but there may be things you don’t know about bill!!!
i think pam may be more dangerous to sookie than bills maker, she will likely get jealous of the attention that eric is about to shower sookies way, but she would never outwardly defy eric so her plans will all be secret much more dangerous
Pam likes to tease Eric about Sookie, and she’s fond of her–Sookie is entertaining. Pam doesn’t have that kind of relationship with Eric, anyway. :/

So i never read ANY of the books till i saw episode 8 of this season, and before then i thought eric was an ass (hot or not) i htought he was strait up evil, and then in episode 8 we kinda saw his softer side and there was one look he gave sookie and it clicked. so i went to FF.net and was looking for eric/sookie combos and thats when i find out they are together in the books so i went and got the audiobooks. must say, the books are pretty amazing and im digging the ending of dead in dallas i really hope the keep to the book for that last part of the book where eric and sookie go to the “orgy” (bwaha) maybe stray from eric’s attire. and for anyone whos hoping for them to stay away from a love triangle in the tv show the writer/producer said in the comic con interview that its going to be in the plot. only a couple more hours guys! *excitement*

I say you should read them! As you can tell, the second series already differs from the books. It’s like the show is almost an alternate reality to the show. I am very interested in seeing how the show continues in comparison to the books. I think everyone who has read the books is still on the edges of their seats waiting to see how everything plays out. Especially since the books are only from Sookie’s point of view, so all of the other story lines are so much fun!

They don’t go by the book… So just because people say it was in the book doesn’t mean that it’s in the show. Like Jessica never even in the book. There are tons of stuff that I could go on and on about how different it is.
Also gotta think about the people who have read the books wanting to talk to each other about what’s going on in the show vs the book. I think people typing SPOILERS is an acceptable way of doing it.

but did anyone else think that qodric burninq in dha sun was some what maqical in a sence;; if anyone recalls wen bill was burning tryinq to save sookie it looked nothing like that…i wonder why.
I think it was because – like Godric said – because of his age, “it won’t take long”. And perhaps it was because a vampire has a different sort of mindset when they actually want to meet the sun to when Bill rescued Sookie. Just an idea.
Another brilliant episode of course. Eric was just AMAZING for the whole thing, and my heart actually hurt watching him break down when Godric decided to meet the sun at the end. And GAH, the bit with Sookie in the bed was the highlight of my day =D
yes the pilow talk was somewhat HOT and romantic. But the way Godric burned in the sun was odd but i liked it, it was as almost if he whanted to give himself up maybe thtas why he burned liked that. Or maybe because of old age he is 2 thousand years old. At least he didnt burn like Bill , like someone deep fried him in hot oil.

The books are completely different. I did not like the “Godfrey” of the book. But I did like the “Godric” of the show. I cried at the end for him.
I really hope that they do not continue to paint Bill as the good guy and Eric as the bad. It is not this way in the books. Sookie leaves Bill when he betrays her. I DO NOT like the Bill at all after the first book…
and seriously… the writers of the show have gone really really overboard with the whole MaryAnn/Tara/Eggs storyline.

I agree the bed scene made this Aussie girl really happy but if you go to episode 10 and watch the teaser the are other little box to look at and you get to see MR JANUARY himself in the bed pose omg he is sooooo hoooooot.check it out.
I n the books I did like the Bill and Sookie relationship and I felt bad for him, until the big bad viking vampire came along.I liked when Eric cut his hair off so much better I think.yum yum
When Eric began to cry, I cried…it was so sad. Eric is by far my favorite character!!

Where to start, the preview had me wetting my pants. Jessica attacking Hoyt’s mom (the look in his face). The look of dismay as Sookie and Jason pull into town. The helplessness in Bill’s face when he says he hasn’t the power to kill Maryanne…. (ouch!) Jason with a chainsaw….(go Jason). Sam getting attacked. Sookie being choked by Maryanne while Bill is standing there helpless….Tara’s scary ass look in her eyes….My one big question, Who the hell is Eric biting with such ferocity… I frame by framed the whole preview and they never showed??? Still…..JASON WITH A CHAINSAW :} Also still missing Godric :{
